After looking through the screen shots and reading for about an hour, I've come to the conclusion that this will be the best Madden ever, period.
Visually, it's the best thing I've ever seen in my life(aside from naked Angelina Jolie). There are a few jagged areas on the screens but I think they will be gone in the final product.
I'm thinking that this will be the biggest and best Madden to date, with (supposedly) over 85 new features. My favorite new features are the new Madden IQ system and the EA Sports Backtrack.
The Madden IQ system will give players the ability to play in a holographic environment, which grants them a "Madden IQ" based on their practice in 12 different drills. The game's difficulty adjusts itself to the players Madden IQ.
The EA Sports Backtrack analyzes the player's playing ability and points out mistakes during gameplay a la a television-style telestrator.
-------------------
Some notable new features include improved gameplay (Offensive line slide protection, smart routes, realistic fatigue, improved gang tackles, true penalty based animations, formation substitutions, new fumble system (weather affects it), new player weapon types and the ability to return missed field goals.). On-demand picture-in-picture play-call window ( Picture-in-picture style interface to allow the player to see key information and call plays and formations without leaving the current window.). And finally, the New Dynamic Camera System (The new madden camera system moves with your receivers so they will never fall out of view during gameplay. The camera automatically pans out, zooms in, and adjusts angles to keep the receivers in screen. Once you complete that pass, if the ball carrier happens to break away from his defenders, the ActionCam will rock back and forth, zoom in and follow the ball carrier, giving you that intense feeling that you're sprinting alongside him. And if a defender happens to really lay into the ball carrier, the Big Hit Camera will rattle the screen with the force of the crunch.)
John Madden and Al Michaels have been replaced with Tom Hammond and Cris Collinsworth.
Like I said before, all signs point towards this being the best Madden ever. Hope to see you boys on the field!
And for no reason I will tell you that I just typed all of that **** out and my middle finger on my right hand hurts now.
That's just not right, not right at all. John and Al were the perfect pair. One was like that friend we've all got that turns into a real a-hole when they're drunk, says all kinds of dumb stuff, and the other is like you always trying to smooth things over and shut him up.

Bah, what a travesty.
Whaaaaaaat?
Omega, Mr. Idon'twatchalotoftvandwhenIdowatchtvit'sonlyCopsLo st24ATHFCopsCopsandBoondocks knows something about football? Hot damn!
I thought weather affected fumbles in the Madden 2008 game... I fumbled all the time when it rained. Granted, I was running upright through the holes, and I was probably running with Kevin Jones from the Detroit Lions. He's a damn fumble machine in that game.
WTF IS THIS?!
Is the QB on fire here? What are they doing to Madden. I don't want to play NFL JAM!

No that's what happens when you shoot up Bull Shark testosterone.

That is the EA Sports Backtrack. It "watches" your play, shows you what you did wrong, shows you if you missed any open receivers, ect.. It's awesome.
Oh, I guess I should have seen the whole BackTrack thing in the photo before I posted. Not that I didn't enjoy playing as a flaming basketball star on the old consoles, I was just freaking out thinking about how stupid it would be in Madden. I'd like the ability to be able to change your entire offensive blocking format. I think now they mostly use a man on man type of offensive blocking, but I'd really like to see different types. For example, this year the Detroit Lions are switching to a zone blocking offense. It'd be **** and bananas if they implemented that into the game. I'd like to see each team have the offense that they use in real life being used in the game. I don't know if they'd be able to do that, but they should try that later on down the line.
I'm glad that the offensive shifts and formation changes are back. That was a great feature that I used on the PS2 version of Madden NFL 2007. It really made the pass blocking better on those 3rd and long trys. The formation change is just wonderful for mixing things up, I really hated that they took that out. I was like a regular old Peyton Manning on my PS2. I'd come up the O-Line in I-Formation and just go crazy shifting people around and switching plays up. I was pissed when it wasn't there in the 360 version.
I can't wait to see how they do the running this year. Last years version had a glitch that pissed me off quite a bit. I would be running down the field, and my ball carrier would have the ball going right through his hand, like it was stabbed through or something. It really looked stupid, and although I don't have any proof, I think it contributed to many fumbles.
I'm really glad that some there will be some regular play calling and color commentary this time around. That damn ESPN radio announcer was just garbage. I played about 150 games over the 8 Franchise seasons (including playoffs and preseason) and I got real sick of it by the end of the first season. You can barely hear what he's saying most of the time, and he really didn't have much in term of variations of terms or play calling. It'd be nice to here some new voices while I'm stomping everyone in the NFC North as my Detroit Lions.
Too bad that doesn't happen too much in real life.
But, hey... WE WON IT ALL BACK IN '57!!11!1!

Lol, yeah.
They've added a bunch of **** in here. I personally can't wait to see the new camera system, and the "crunch cam" on big hits.
I also hope they've improved the running. On 08 it was too easy... or, was it my awesome ability? I played this dude online 2 times straight and each game I had 294 yards rushing, it was awesome breaking those 40/50/60 yd TD runs.
Well sheeeeeeeeeeeet nizzy, I'll bring the gatorade! Which you want, tropical punch or that yellow-green stuff that no one knows what the fuzz it's supposed to taste like?
You know what would be great for multiplayer? And maybe they already do this, but have two people per team. Like offense, one is the qb, and the other is the receiver or rb.
I was always turned off by Madden MP because you could only ever play with 1 other person.

Yellow-Green is where it's at. If it's not yellow-green, I want.... sugar water purple

I don't think you can online, but that'd be f*ckin' sweet if you could.

I didn't even know you played Madden. Hell, I didn't even know you knew what football is
