| Xbox 360 or Playstation 3? -
I think where Sony's gone wrong is that they didn't think their system out that well with the PS3, and now they're doing a lot of what I call "band-aiding". Band-aiding is when you have a lot of problems that you try to fix incrementally, or a piece at a time.
Having not planned out a universal system and feature-set for the PS3, Sony's trying to do a lot of catch up with the Wii and 360. They're going to get the PS3 a lot better, but I don't think they'll ever have a solid network platform this generation.
Honestly Sony's only saving grace with the PS3 is brand power. If the PS3 were called something else and had been released by someone like Sega, it'd be a goner by now.
I expect Sony to learn from all of their mistakes with the PS3, and to eventually hit a home run with the PS4. -

Sony would be doing significantly better if....
1. They actually advertise something......
2. Economy wasn't as ******......
3. THEY ****ING ADVERTISE!!!
lol, It just annoys me to hell that they don't advertise. -
You're right, their marketing strategy is horrible with the PS3. It started with those horrible, bizarre ads at launch, and just went further down the drain. It's so rare I see a PS3 commercial.
That could explain why 360 outsold PS3 by 3:1 on black friday. -

Even if Sony heavily advertised around the time of black friday, I think the outcome would have been the same considering all of Microsoft's ads (or ad plugs), end in Now $199. -

I'm surprised. The PS3 is advertised over here pretty heavily. Not as much as the 360, which seems to be on during every ad break, but there's still a decent chunk of PS3 TV time. -

Thats what I was thinking also, but in in the Nj/Ny metro area, so PS3 ads may be scarce elsewares? -

No, I'm kidding. Alright I'll stop PS3 bashing, you have a point that it is kinda making its way back into the pack. If anyone throws some cash my way or it gets a price drop, I'll consider a purchase. That that does not kill you can only make you stranger. -

Or as early as possibly when the Killzone 2 PS3 bundle is released in February. -

360 has bundles often too (same with PS2 and other consoles). I see no problem with them, gives people a game to play without having to spend more money, as well as make the console more appealing for that time.
Also, Sony is extremely disappointed in their Japanese market/games etc, and they know that they need more RPGs, that's a given, but apparently, there is a rumor that Sony currently has 5 in-house developed RPGs, 2 of which are Legend of Dragoon 2, and Dark Cloud 3.
However, take that with a dump truck of salt, as it sounds too good to be true. -

I live in New york and I don't think I have EVER seen a ps3 commericail besides on my computer and or my ps3 it's self....
To be completly honest... As much as I love my ps3 I don't think it would even be around if it wasn't for the the BluRay.. It would be like a dream cast.. So much effin potential but made nothing of it... -

Here is my take on the PS3 vs. Xbox.
The PS3 has horrible advertising. They have random crap for commercials and I want to know about good games for the PS3 that are exclusive but they say nothing about them.
The Xbox used a "scam" to get you to buy an Xbox. They see the 200$ bundle (arcade) with no harddrive. That is like buying a Mustang that only goes 30MPH. It is stupid! The harddrive is what lets you use the xbox to get updates, save your game, get extra content, and other various thing. The PS3 could do this and it would sorta work but its too late. My beef with Xbox is its online service. I dont want to pay for something that should be free. I already bought a 50-60 dollar game and now i have to pay to get the best of it. Then ontop of that they sell some of the downloadable content. One song for Rock Band i believe is 3 dollars. WTF!!! Its like paying to pay. The games and set up is decent but I just dont like it for that reason. The PS3 has most of the same games that are known such as COD and GTA. If i had the money I would buy a PS3 but i dont play consoles that much. -

Do you think it's unreasonable to pay for cellphone service too? I mean, you already bought the phone, why should you have to pay to talk to people? | |
