I get to pick up my copy in an hour or so at Gamestop. The supposed "exclusive" MLG comcast map's code is the same for everyone. People have posted the code already and people have been able to use it perfectly. I thought it would be like the Army of Two exclusive guns but guess not.
Personally, I think it is soooo much better than the first R6V game. And all of the people who said that the game looks "ugly" can take a look and see it for themselves now... I think some maps (most notably Kill House) look much better than they did in the past. When a game plays this smoothly, I willput up with the "cartoony graphics" comments...
First, they now have respawns in the TH maps.
Second, they constantly have your XP displayed at the bottom of your screen... along with your rank. Not to mention the fact that when you do in fact hit the next rank, a nice "notification" flashes on your screen.
Third, the new "ACES" thing that they have brought is pretty fun in itself... you can see points build for your character with every headshot, grenade kill, kill through cover, flashbang and kill an opponent, kill a turret gunner, etc etc.
Also, the sprint feature is a welcome addition to the game, as well...
Needless to say, all of the people on my friend's list should expect to see me playing this game over the course of time... this game rocks!!!
EDIT: I've heard the Comcast code for the bonus map (which is actually pretty cool, aside from being one HUGE Comcast ad) is displayed somewhere on their website.
I gotta say, I feel like it could be a lot better.
Don't get me wrong, it's fun, I like it, but I also liked the first one. I think the problem is that Ubisoft couldn't figure out if they were making a sequel or an expansion pack.
I feel like we totally got the shaft by them not including the maps from the first one. I can't wait for them to offer them up as DLC at 800 MSP for 3 of them.
I also feel like they could've taken the character customization a lot further. It seems like there are hardly any new items as far as armor, clothing and accessories goes. That's one of the biggest disappointments for me. Part of what kept you playing in the first one was unlocking new stuffs, and I'm just not feeling the draw here.
TH is fun though. I have so many friends I gotta play with, and this game is really great at bringin' people together.
But hey, fck it. At least there are no ghillie suits, and this only has to last until GTAIV comes out.
I just played for four and a half hours straight. It's refreshing to play this after playing nothing but Call of Poopy 4 for three months.
I couldn't join any online games though. I was pissed. I got into 2 games. Both of which ended midgame. But I played co-op with some random guy for an hour and it was awesome.
I played for a couple of hours this morning before work. It gave me a "Welcome Back" when I started it up! I got some euipment and XP before I had even played. God I love this Game. I played the first mission of campaign, which was cool. I'm not too bothered that it doesn't have COD4 graphics. I much prefer the gameplay, you can't just run and gun. And a couple of T - Hunts. The levelling system is nice, apart from you should get more for a long range headshot than a grenade, but I can live with that. It's a four day weekend here so I'll be on from Friday morning till monday night. If anyone fancies some T - hunt let me know!
I don't know how I feel about that. I suppose that the terrorists are the same group as the first game and would say the same kind of thing? But that is an awful reason. They haven't made huge leaps and bounds since the first Vegas as everybody knows. The "If it aint broke, don't fix it" works well here. They didn't need to try and fix it though, they could have pulled their fingers out and at least added new dialogue and music. It seems sometimes that developers don't realise that people will pick up on these kinds of things. EA are a prime example.
I am not sure why people wanted this game completely re-done.... For anyone who has been to Vegas, you will realize that Vegas is relatively small and there is only so much you can do there. If you want a different game, try to start a new series with a different location.
Halo has basically been the same thing time and time again. Madden is the same thing over and over again. This is a sequel to a blockbuster game and I think it hit every expectation head on, except multiplayer online, but I could not care less about that. I do not play multiplayer anymore!
In an earlier email today, I used the following sentence to explain R6V2:
"This game is a visual orgasm that runs as smoothly as a bowel movement does after you have just eaten a Crave Case from White Castle."
Now that you have a wonderful visual of my bathroom habits, I will hit the pros and cons of the game.
Pros:
- The addition of numbered respawns on TH is amazingly helpful!
- AI terrorists are no longer mental midgets, they are tough!
- To me, this game is graphically stunning in HD.
- The new XP presentation is fantastic and motivating.
- A.C.E.S. feature makes killing people differently a whole new "game"
- The new maps that are available are amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My list could go on and on.............
Cons:
- The online multiplayer is worthless. You can't switch teams after a round!!!!
- You can not do 4-player co-op story mode like last year (only 2 player now).
- They take away the number of grenades you carry as the difficulty increases....... not a real gripe, but I figured I needed to complain
