I think there are 30 cars from the text messages to steal not 10.
Oh great!
I am about to get the Cognoscenti for him and I thought I was almost done. Suppose it's a good earner though.
Still though, I am glad that this game relies less on side missions, kill frenzies, etc. I hated doing missions in previous GTA games and then realising I didn't need to do them. It seems to have happened a lot less in this one.

Yeah, you're probably correct... but I find it funny that people are only now starting to "complain" about it, seeing as how this is usually how GTA games go.
I can't even find the Cognoscenti in Alderney City!
Last night I made it my primary objective to finish the assassin missions, and finish Stevie's 'list'.
I think I drove around Alderney City for around 30 minutes and couldn't find it, so I then used a helicopter and still couldn't find it.
Do some of the cars only appear at certain times? I know some of them spawn in slightly different places, but this one I just can't find for the life of me.

I found it parked in an Alderney City alley, near the corner of Lyndon Avenue and Boyden Avenue... it's practically smack dab in the center of the island.

Thanks for the tip, I will have a look for it later.
One other thing I am having problems with is the 100% completion business.
I have finished the story, Brucie's car list, Assassin missions, over half of the pigeons, some of Stevie's list, a few of the jumps, and I still only have around 70% completion. I think I have done most of the random character missions also.
Could it be that I somehow missed a few missions in the story? I thought you could get 100% no matter what decisions you made along the way.

I'd suggest that you begin checking your in-game "progress ticker", as far as character mission completion is concerned... certain choices that I made in my first saved game made it totally impossible for me to get the 100% completion statistic.
Hopefully some co-op missions, eh? I hate the two player setup for San Andreas. You can't even go that far apart from each other and the absence of a split-screen makes it very difficult to see your character (especially at night in very dark areas). I bet that they will use the same ideas for online play as they did in Vice City Stories for the PSP. Can't wait to get some solid info on it.
I agree, multi player games need to have split screen! I think it makes the action feel much faster and I can concentrate on 'the mission' more easily.
I finished my second playthrough Friday afternoon... completed the story in just over 20 hours, and I can now move on to hunting all of the flying rats that are in Liberty City.
Hopefully, I will have the patience to go for the 100% completion in the game. Luckily, the DLC that's on the horizon will keep me playing the game into the future.

I'm sure you don't need to be told this, but make sure you actually save your game at a safehouse. I used to just think the autosave was good enough but one day I tried loading it and the file vanished. Luckily, I had another file saved after I completed the story, but about 10% of the story completed wasn't there. As imagined, it sucked. I had a little over 80% completed and I'm now back to 70%.

Oh, yeah, after hearing all of the auto-save problems that Bully: Scholarship Edition used to have, I save my game manually very very very often.
After Friday afternoon, I now have two "story complete" saves on my 360's hard drive.

Lucky bastard.
By the way, have you ever stayed in Hove Beach for a while? It's where the Russian thugs hang out, near the amusement park and the area Roman's apartment and company were.
