Kings Quest

This just so happens to be a series of quite older games. But I absolutely love them. Its sort of a semi-puzzle/rpg/storybased game created by Sierra. Has anyone else heard of/played this? I love it to death, and would like to discuss it a slight bit.

I've only played KQVI, but I remember it having pretty decent graphics and sound for its day. I also thought that the puzzles were challenging, but not frustrating or silly. They're not still making these, are they?

They have made more after KQVI. But not recently, being that it hasn't been updated or anything. That was my second favorite of the KQ series. They actually have a box set of all of the games together. Some date back so far that the graphics are hardly better than pixelated blocks. But yes, at the time they seemed pretty well done.

Which one was your favourite? I haven't played any others, so I won't recognize it. I think I've seen some of the early ones on some abandonware sites; maybe I'll check it out. Or maybe I'll see what uTorrent can find for me, if I'm feeling a bit more devilish.

well my favorite was the first one i played which was KQ the princeless bride. i loved it. =-D good story.

Don't you just love how those old games can still have great stories? I liked playing those when I was really young; I learned to read playing games like Police Quest and Loom. Not to say that those games are so easy a child could beat them - let's just say that I knew the beginning of those games very well.

I've got a torrent coming in right now with the first five KQ games on it (plus 8 GB of other abandonware junk), so I'll be sure to try them out while strolling down memory lane.
