Oblivion: need help.

Hi.
I need help with obliviion.
I'm on the quest of the thief guild, you know the one where I need to kill
that guy and take his boots.
I found the diary and the quest message poped out, but the guy won't show up,, I waited 3 day (game days of curse, in life about 1 hour)
and he won't show up, he is not in the basement, the house it self or outside, how am I supposed to complete the quest?
please help me?

Who are you waiting for? Did you read the diary? Springheel Jack was buried with his boots and has been dead for like 300 years when Oblivion takes place... Don't ask me how I know this. But all you have to do is bring the boots to the Gray Fox if I remember correctly.

Yes I'm waitng for that Springheel Jack , when I tried to throw it and just read it, a quest log popped out saying, he's not dead , and that guy Jakben in the start of the quest is Springheel Jack himself, and that he is wearing the boots.
after I read it, it marked the location of the grey for in that city Cheydinhal , but he's not there since I don't have the boots.
So I figured it was a bug so I went to search for a solution, and accidentally came across a walkthrough, that sais that after reading the diary he is supposed to show up, I must kill him , take the boots of his corpse and complete the quest but he won't show up , so I can't complete it.

Start walking out and the dead guy's son or w/e should be by the door and will attack you. He is the one who has the boots on.

He is not there, only his servant .
I'm going crazy, i've been to everywhere he could be, his Attic, the hose it self, the basement, out side his house, everywhere, I really don't know what to do.
I'm not a quitter, but I think I'll quit the quest and just go to the murderers guid, since it's the guild I wanted to be in the first place.
If you have any kind of solution to this annoying problem, I'm waiting.
If it's a patch or a place to go to, something , anything please I'm going crazy.
