Counter Strike problem

earlier today, i got a message saying:

"Hello, This is an automatic message from steam. Your account has been detected for mutiple IP usage, please varify you are the rightful owner. We apologize for any inconvenience. Due to an email we recently received from: InTractoin145@hotmail.com we are obligated to contact you. The account has been reported stolen by the alleged original account holder. Steam does not take these types of issues lightly.To clear up this incident and close this case labeled dispute No. 7632143 we need to verify either a CD key or a username and password. If the original CD-key cannot be obtained you need to verify your username and password. If you cooperate completely and your account is verified successfully you will receive a game of your choice at the price of $9.99 or lower for your trouble. Again we apologize for any inconvenience. If this information is not submitted within 24 hours of this request your account may be suspended permanently. If you have any questions please refer to Welcome to Steam. Thank you for cooperating"

a week ago, i took my laptop to my friends house and played CS with him there. i connected to his network, that's why i had a different IP adress.

what do i do?

Send them the username or password or the cd key like the message say

You might make sure its DEFINITELY from Steam.
Something seems fishy.....idk. Did it say where to send the supposed info?

I mean, sure, you don't want your account suspended, but then again, you definitely don't want your account stolen by some person stealing accounts. Search it on google, because I just got a couple results of scams that start like that.

Actually, I really really hope you didn't send out your password, because steam would never ask for your account details. You might have just gotten pwnz0r3d.

i sent an email to kyle@conditionzero.com because that was this guys email and never got a response saying that the mized up IP adresses was because i took my laptop to my friends. and i went on steams website and there was nothing there about verifying an account.

this was deffinatly fake because there are typos in it. an automatic message wouldnt have dumb mistakes like that. and my account still works.

:P in emails they'd not need to request your Username and Pass or a CDkey, The CD Key would prove nothing. And your user name and pass are saved in Databases so if they really needed them, then they'd just check in there. And as Steam have said, They'd never ask for that information. So yes fake.
