America's Army

I searched for it and came up with no results on here, so here it is. Anyways, I got this game a few days ago, now I am hooked. I just wanted to know if anyone else plays AA. I usually just play in the official "Border" maps. When I am feeling adventurous, I play "Insurgent Camp". But you can always find me in the Border maps, I think that is the best map ever, no matter what game I am talking about, this map is the best.

I could actually play it half efficiently on my computer. (amazingly!)

Settings damn low, but still, it would play.
Never got past the required training mode thing though.....loading times were too much for me.

loading is a part of being a gamer. until 2020.

Back on topic, the best part of this game is that it is completely free. I love it because it represents everything I have wanted in a videogame based on war. SOCOM could not amount to America's Army IMO.

It creates the need to drop down and avoid fire, you only get two grenades, and smoke grenades are your friend. It is also realistic in the fact you rarely come face to face with your enemy. There is zero running and gunning. Your weapon will only be accurate if you pull it up to your eye. There arent any crosshairs on there either. However, if you are in a room in a hut, then an enemy barges in, you can always go automatic on him, but that is close range only.

Many firefights happen because not everyone is a boring sniper. Only two snipers are allowed on one team, and two Automatic Rifleman (or AR) per team as well. The rest of the team has to be rifleman class.

I love the maps as well. They really look like authentic towns in the middle-east.

It is also strictly team based. Lone wolves get ripped apart, unless they are extremely lucky. When you do confront the enemy face to face in CQC, it pumps you up because it is whoever levels their weapons first.

As for training, training is a breeze if you're going through basic only. I wanted to be a medic, so I had to go to medic school and pass four classes for my certified combat medic license. With that, I am able to heal someone faster than a player who never went to medic school.

You are not allow to play in maps that you do not qualify for. For example, I went to Ranger School. I can play in maps that Rangers are working in, but if you have not went to Ranger School, you cannot join my game. Goes same with the 82nd Airborne missions. You can only play them if you completed jump school and a live jump at camp. So just not any noob can join any game.

One downside, if you die early within a match, be prepared to watch the rest of the operation for 9 minutes. I play in the official Army servers and the time set on the clock is 10:00 minutes.

this game was originally made to get people to enlist in the armed forces overall not a bad game but i would not recomend it over battlefield 2 or socom 3 or 2

Chimaira, I've got this game, and I LOVE the fact that it's so realistic. Everything that SOCOM 3 wasn't. I didn't know that there were others who liked playing as a team as I do.

If you wanna get together, and move together in a squad, contact me on XFire, the name's SoggyMIlk.

Or you can talk to meon AIM, Jumpin992's my SN.

yeah i love americas army. i quit socom3 and im downloading it right now as i speak. i cant wait to see the new stuff for 2.7. on 2.6 they had updated sight rails and stuff. also i like the SF honor rooms.

the only problem is that i dont have the greatest computer in the world.

the things i like about americas army is that

- its very realistic.
- bugs and glitches get patches.
- mod rooms are fun (rpgs, at4s, 203s, not ranked of course)
- i like how there is teamwork.
- i like the voting system
- tactics are fun on this game
- rounds are nice and quick
- bridge crossing is the most even map and i think its the best. also the best for people who start out

bad things

- its toke me over a year to get decent at the game.
- my computer sucks so i cant play the awesome maps (urban assult, sf hospital, sf extraction =[)
- its a pain to get a sniper rifle.
- people are really really good at the game

i cant wait till my download is done.

edit

16 hours to go lol, 552 mb done out of 2.5gb

anyways my name on AA is myg0t!! (lol how old is that 2 years??)
