Spore (PC)
This looks to be a promising game. Its from the guy who made the Sims and Sim City. Basically you start out as a single celled organisim and you develop your organisim to different stages eventually traveling space. Heres a video of the game narrated by the creator (its pretty long though 35 mins):

And heres a video of Robin Willams playing the game where you customize your species (hes a huge Spore supporter):

And heres a demo from E3:

I can't wait for this game to be released, it should be pretty good. I watched the video a long time ago, but you can basically just do anything you want to. Create an "animal" any way you'd like, make them act different ways, it seems like the making of a good game.
I know it is getting released for PC, but they were talking about making it for all the next generation systems as well. I don't know if they've finalized anything, but I'd really like to see this game on the Wii .

Im not going to buy it, but I might try it out somewhere. Games liek this dont interest me totally, and I think would get boring after awhile. Its a great concept though. But I just dont have enough money, Causs I am getting the Wii, with 4 games, a 150 dollar PSU for my computer, a 600 dollar GPU for more computer, possibly a PS3, Battlefield 2142 and huxley for the PC, then final fantasy 12 for ps2, and some more games that I am forgetting to list, all sometime by the end of the year. So basicly I will just be...............well........dirt poor.......for a LONG time :p

The release date got pushed back to some unknown time at least middle of 2007, so I think you have plenty of time to come up with $50 .

I've been on the list to hear about Spore news for months and I still haven't seen anything new. I'm still exited for the game, though.

What I'm interested in is the concept of pushing a lot of unique content through procedural techniques, like Will Wright gave in one of his speeches on Spore.
Of course the game itself will be awesome as well, but I'm more interested in how it works than the gameplay. There's a good chance I'll buy the game and marvel at it, though; I can't wait to start blowing up planets.

Same here. I didn't know anything about it, but I watched those videos and it looks simply amazing.
There's going to be so much to do... it's going to be addicting.

The release date is something like mid to late 2007. Now I have something to live for for another year.
That's what I got from the IGN board but spore.com doesn't have any news after August 25, 2006.

Yeah, GameStop has the pre-release shipping as 10/1/07 so it looks like you'll need a little less than a year with the whole breathing thing.
I too am anticipating the release. Watching Robin Williams play it was fun enough!
