The alpha version of this game just got released on Christmas day. I must say, I have fallen in love with Goldeneye again. It is exactly like Goldeneye too! (for the most part.) Some guns were slightly modded but the feel of the game, the levels, sounds, everything, all original. If Goldeneye was a computer game, it would have played exactly like this.

I have not played any other game in my free time other than Goldeneye Source. I'm sure most people here would love the game.

As I said in the thread I made about it weeks ago, it is a Half Life 2 mod so you need HL2 to play it but it is worth it. HL2 is $40. You get Half Life 2, Half Life Source, Counter Strike Source, and the ability to download other games and install Goldeneye Source. It is WELL worth it!

Thats awesome that they have a goleneye almost like the original one back in the n64 days. But my one question is why would they make it a mod or a downloadable through half life? They couldnt just make it a game of its own?? O well I guess for 40 bucks you get 3 games which pays off.

The only thing I can think of for why it's not a game of it's own is probably because of copyright laws.

It really doesn't matter because you are basicaly buying the game by buying HL2 anyway.

after playing this game for several hours straight, i decided i didn't like it. there's just no variety or anything. and no crosshairs!

First off... Goldeneye 64 didn't have crosshairs either unless you manually aimed. The game is so fast paced that you never have time to manually aim anyway. And if you need crosshairs to shoot someone, you need more practice. :P

It doesn't have much variety yet because it's the ALPHA version of the game. It's not even beta yet. They are testing it out and giving people a feel for how it is going to be. It is already one of the most played games through STEAM anyway so it can't be bad. :P

I loved it for N64 and I love all HL1/2 games/mods so I can't wait!

See your already addicted to this game :D Thats the good ole goleneye for you. I think golendeye was probably the best multiplayer game that ws insanely fun all the time with a group of friends!

Except for when 4 people come over. And then 5 people wanna play. Someone has gotta go.
