Well I started to love the intervention and could not wait until I got thermal, BUT the thing sucked with a silencer, I found it imposible to get kills seing it took 2 shots bot having to but another bullet in the chamber [3 secconds]
So I switched to the barret lol

Wanted to know out of these 2 snipers, what your favorites were..
Intervention. In core game modes you just can't silence it, but its very satisfying to kill with a bolt action rifle when others blast away repeatedly with a Barret. On hardcore its also brilliant because it will kill in one bullet when silenced.
I started with the barret, went to the intervention, now back to the barret. Both will kill with one shot most of the time but if it doesnt, the barret can get a second shot off faster.
I'm somewhat disappointed about the selection of Snipers in MW2, don't think any can compare to the M40A3, but if anything Intervention [ I believe] is best, totally agree with what the other guy says ^^ strange, but for some reason it does give you more of a warm fuzzy feeling for getting a kill with a bolt action rifle. Whats the M21 like? [ think thats what it is, the one you get at 56?]
The M21 is okay. You can get one shot kills but usually not... It is semi auto and has zero recoil.
I just want to know why people decide to use the intervention over the barret? The intervention has slightly better accuracy but the fire rate doesn't make up for it in my opinion. Is there any actual difference in the intervention that actually makes it better? I'm not bashing anyone who uses it, I'm just finding it hard to find a reason to use it.
Wow No recoil, sounds good to me. Can totally see where your coming from i.e not understanding why a bolt action would perform better than a Barrett. Personally i have never like the barrett, even in CoD4 always went for the M40A3 and now i think im thinking of the Intervention as too much of a similar gun to the M40A3 than it actually is. Don't even know if what i just said made any sense lol

i feel the same way, i don't understand why anyone would pick the intervention when both it and the barret are pretty much equal in all regards except fire rate where the barret surpasses the other by leaps and bounds. that's an important feature for videogame sniping, it's especially handy when a bad guy pops up in your face and you're not armed with your sidearm.
the only reasons i can think of for people choosing the intervention are the name, it's looks, and maybe the fact that it was the rifle used in the movie "the shooter" (based on the bob (the nailer) lee swagger novels).
I think the accuracy problem the barret had in COD4 is gone and the intervention does not kill as well as the M40.... I liked the M40 in COD4 but the barret is just better now. The WA20000 or whatever is okay but its not as powerful as the other rifles so its not really worth it. The recoil is less but I usually only need one shot to kill someone so why do I want less recoil to get off a second shot.
Basically if you ran with the dragnov or M21 in COD4 you'd like the M21 now. Also if you want a silenced sniper you might as well use this cause any silenced sniper takes two shots... so it might as well be a rifle with no recoil
