There was a beta for Modern Warfare as well, so I'd imagine they will have a beta for MW2. It seems to be their m.o.

If I remember correctly, the beta for Modern Warfare was just something you apply for on the site.
They had a public beta for COD World at War so maybe they will have a public beta for MW2 also, but I personally do not think they will.
CoD WaW was made by Treyarch, and CoD4 MW and MW2 are made by Infinity Ward I think? Anyways 2 different game makers, I don't think if WaW had a beta that that means MW2 will have one. I know CoD4 MW had a beta, I don't know how you had to get into it legit because I got in it the h4x way. If you ask me I think a beta for MW2 would be sweet, just as a demo/preview for the whole game, but at the same time wouldn't MW2 have the same game mechanics as it's predecessor? So really the only thing to test out in the beta would be online issues, unless I'm forgetting something..and to get a true grasp of that it would have to be an open invite to the beta, to get the most players possible.

Modern Warfare 2 is the most hyped up game i've ever seen when I say that I mean it's the game we're ALL Excited about, if there WAS a demo, it DEFINITELY wouldn't be like World At War in which they gave it away for free for a day, to many people would have it, so Im saying you would MORE THAN LIKELY have to pre-order the prestige edition, just my guess though

Don't want to be the big D but that means it's anticipated =) Hyped is when marketing dept goes into full gear and crams teasers down our throats... which I don't think they have to worry about Hyping this one up... as its predecessors speak for themselves. I'm just as anxious to get my hands on the game. November can't come soon enough... as far as gaming goes. Even GoW2 is finally starting to lose it's appeal. Which is making this wait more of a pain.
My guess will be they will release a MP demo like the others have (RF2, Battlefield) and collect info off of that... which I think is the new way of BETA testing these days. Or it should be at least... the exclusitivity BETA testing causes so much headache as far asNon-disclosure agreements go. Coupled by the fact people will go absolutely bat-shit crazy to get into the BETA and then cry their heads off when they don't get in. Resulting in some crazy h4x0r shiz.

GoW2 lost it's appeal to me after about a month or so, I still kinda regret buying it.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if we didn't get a BETA for MW2. The game is going to be insanely good, I wouldn't blame/doubt them for making us wait 'till November to get our full copy.
