The AK 47 is definately the best gun in the game. Unobstrusive sights, powerful, doesn't suffer at range as much as the SMG's so when silenced it is superb. The M4 comes close behind, and the best sniper is the M40... feels better than the M82.
I snipe a lot too (m40) but on maps with not as much open space I do like to use the m16. I have pretty good accuracy.. about 20% so the m16 works for me.
i didn't know people used the m16 so much. i'm going to rip of all your ideas for myself!! hahaha i'm j/k. i'm actually and mp5 user with red dot sight and a deagle. it works out for me really well for melee battles. it really depends what map though. i'll switch to an assault rifle is the area calls for it.
m4 all the way, doesn't bounce much, does enough damage in hardcore to do away with somebody fast, and accurate enough to not have to shoulder it when right next to somebody.

M16 for long range (but not like sniper range), Mp5 for CQB, G36c for medium range, and M4 for everything.
No, yes, no and no.
Yes, the M16 is a great long range weapon but I said no because you said it's not good for sniper range and that's wrong. The M16 can handle sniper range without a problem at all, especially if you know how to use it.
The G36c is too slow of a gun to make it a good gun for anything.
The M4 is a good medium range gun but short range it's only OK at best because it still is an assault rifle. At long range the power and accuracy is upsetting.
In other words, the M16 is still one of FEW for the best all around gun in the game.
Yeah, I believe it really depends on playing style and map. Are you the aggressive type on small maps? You might prefer the mp5 then. If you're a long distance player then you might prefer using the Sniper Rifle with claymores. I personally like the deagle and dragonauv with stopping power. Get's the job done quick.

Only when paired with stopping power. When I say sniper range, i don't mean like from the truck to the Marines Spawn in Bog domination, i mean like from the MG to the end of the hill on pipeline. But yeah, the M16 is a freaking beast. if you pair it w/ stopping power, you are essentially turning regular games into hardcore. gotta love that combo.
