Agreed. I really don't believe that Confrontation can reach the activity of a game that [was] praised so much by PC, 360, and PS3 gamers everywhere.

As Slasher said, Socom does have the fan base. The amount of sad twerps on EU forums who spend most of their time reliving their S2 glories is unbeleivable. I always thought S3 was a perfectly servicable game, the only reason I couldn't play it for thousands of hours like I did on S2 was that I had been around the block a few times and online gaming wasn't the "holy crap!" experience it had been.

If they ever reinstate the death penalty in the UK I fervently hope it is reserved for cyber crimes. People who make viruses and people who feel the need to cheat at a game need to die, its that simple. No reason to exist at all. Cheating is acceptable in Monopoly and poker so long as no money is involved, anywhere else it bloody well isn't.

I agree, cheaters need to be punished to the max, simple as that. And I do think COD4 will loose a lot once Socom comes out. Now it's the gameplay and how the game is going to be, is the question whether or not those people stay with Socom or go back to COD4

I agree as well. As much as I like COD4 's graphics and gameplay. It doesn't compare to any of the Socom's, online. Socom's community features make for a entertaining experience. I can play Socom 3 for hours losing track of time. While COD4 bores me to death after 2 hours.

Relative to the PS3, I think you guys might be surprised. It is Socom afterall, the very reason a whole generation of gamers went online in the first place. If the gameplay matches the screens, I think it'll prove very successful.

It will be successful, but not as successful as COD. COD is the biggest and best(aside from Vegas) online shooter since S2, and I don't think that Slant Six(or Zipper, or whoever the **** is making SOCOM these days) has the ability to match it.

Plus, a sizeable amount of people that played Socom don't have a PS3, so that will have some affect Confrontation's success ...

Can u prove that?

What i mean is can u prove that siezable amount of people who play socom don´t have a ps3,i mean i have play since the first socom and im 27 years old,considering i was like 22 or so when the first socom launched,almost everyone is old enough to have a job hence the money to buy a ps3.

Just because you can afford a PS3 doesn't mean you own one.

I don't want to keep this off-topic chat going, but I played SOCOM 3 and loved it. Just because I loved it doesn't mean I would buy a console to be able to play a sequel to it. If you buy a console for one game, you are a bigger Muppet than Phil Harrison is for leaving Sony.

I see COD4 as a totally different game to the previous COD games, so die-hard WWII shooter fans may not have kept with the series, and die-hard modern shooter fans may have now come to the series. The SOCOM series is just one long continuation of relatively similar games, the fans have stayed with the series for that reason (not the only reason I'm sure). This is where the technicalities of the fan bases come in and I get owned.

No I can't prove it, but if you think about it, it's true

And just because someone has a job doesn't mean they have the money to afford a PS3.
