After Prestige

i was drunk and accidentally hit the prestige button the other night. i'm currently on like level 25 of the first prestige level now and it sucks. when i get to 55 this time i'm staying there forever.

i miss my m14, good shotgun, and my overkill perk. *sad face*

I don't mind losing all the weapons, Im at prestege 5 and going strong. It gives me somthing to strive for. Also I have alot of time so it doesnt take me years to get to the next level.

well i play COD4 alot so im gonna go thru all the pretige modes. takes like only 1 1/2 weeks for me to get thru one when i only play COD4. its cool to go thru the modes. i like to get all the kills for all assualt rifles, subs, and M21, R700, and Barret. and do most of the challenges cause most of them just get done by playing

Alright. SO, I have a few questions about prestige that I'm hoping you guys can answer.

1) What exactly happens? Do you just start at rank 1 again, and have to reunlock all the weapons, challenges, etc? Or does your challenge progress get erased as well (like, you've already completed all the marksman challenges for a default unlocked weapon, would you have to do it again after going through prestige? And the same for something like Vandalism? Like, are the challenges just locked but all your data/progress still saved?)?

2) What are the benefits of prestige? I've heard you get golden weapons and ****... what are the rewards?

Basically, it adds replay value. You get a symbol next to your name based on prestige level, and thats it. Challenges, weapons, and level reset. Golden weapons are given to you when you complete all expert and marksman challenges for a weapon class.

1) You start back at 1, and lose everything including challenges. It's fun to get the challenges again, and also if it didn't erase the challenges then you would still have all of your attachments and such. The challenges are a big form of experience, and it would be much harder to progress through the ranks again without having challenges to give you those little boosts. So yeah, you lose EVERYTHING.

2) Replayability. You don't get any rewards except for the symbol next to your name.

the other easy ones are getting like 150 kills with one weapon and like 75 headshots... :)

if i do all the challenges now, and i do prestige, i can't redo them while in prestige?

You can redo them. They reset.

Am I the only one having trouble taking down people with a headshot? The headshot challenges always take much longer than they should. I'll even walk up behind a stationary sniper, take aim, yet it won't give me the headshot. However, I find that if I happen to hit them in the knee I am awarded one.
