Sounds good my man, I would never want to do that. And I have a propostion for you as well. When I do happen to us 1 shot snipers, don't tell me not to use it and what gun to use. Not that you do, however I'm just merely saying. I didn't mean to come off as trying to "tell you what game to play", I just get annoyed, I was just saying that there are so many people using snipers in Socom, that it seems so fruitless to complain about it. Thats all, didn't mean to come as standoffish.

The 50 cal wasn't in the beta sunshine..:smile: In the beta there was the M40, maybe the other sniper, and I believe you were able to unlock a semi-auto sniper as well. Or maybe it was just the M40 and you had to unlock the semi-auto sniper, I can't really remember. But you can't get the 50 cal sniper until level 51.

Correct. You started with M40 in the beta and eventually could unlock the M21 and Dragunov.

My only complaint about the game is the spawning. But what we should have is one general CoD4 ***** thread covering all of these hot contraversial topics.

Personally this game bores me anymore because of the spawning, lack of new maps, and the broken promise by Infinity Ward to transfer the host when booted so that the game doesn't end. Kill Cam ? Nice new touch that wore itself out 2 weeks into the Beta.

I think the kill cam is better than socom's system of just pointing your screen towards the culprit. Also, more often than not, if you'r in a good "spot" and don't like people seeing where you are, chances are good you're sniping. I've learned that, while sniping, after every kill, stay zoomed in for a few seconds. This way when the victim watches your kill cam all they see is themself through a scope. They still get the general direction of you and can often guess your position, but it helps.
Good topic, but the retards are going to hit this one hard. Int shouldn't be long before "HURR DURR MAYBE YOU SHOULDNT CAMP THEN"

You were actually less than a mile away. A two mile shot is unheard of.
In any event, at the distance you were at, the bullet would actually be coming down on the target at an almost verticle slope. From that far away, the target wouldn't just lose an arm. His limbs would be thrown hundreds of feet to the sides and not much would be left.
To keep partially on topic, one thing I hate about this game is the spawning.
I can;t tell you how many times I have spawned on a grenade or airstrike. Don't get me started on spawning with an enemy breathing down my neck, either.
Ridiculous.

I think the sound of the new air strike kill cam sound quite good. Can't wait to follow that pain in the *** bomb to the top of my head.
The kill cam, in my opinion, is the best anti-camping tool on the game. Most of the camping snipers out there forget about the kill cam and end up getting owned when they fail to move after killing a guy and thinking they are the dog's bollocks.
In saying that, I wouldn't miss the kill cam if they took it out. I don't mind dying and not knowing where the guy was who did it. I think it adds to the fun because you have to find the bastard.

The shot in CoD4 is definately no more than a mile but the M82 is completely lethal at two+ miles. In 2004 at Al Amarrah (southern Iraq) a "Royal Marine" (actually SBS) sniper team got a clean kill at precisely 3167 metres and there was a group of Canadians in Afghanistan in late 2001/early 2002 who got several kills at greater ranges than that. I'm not sure about US forces but I'm sure they ain't that bad ;)
And .50 BMG's are bloody unpleasant but they aren't in the business of vapourising people. Not that that's much comfort to the chap on the wrong end, but worth pointing out.
I've never hadm uch trouble with spawning on grenades and stuff... sometimes I'm a tad too close to the enemy but when they are spread all over the map the game isn't at fault. But trying to work out what is going on is terribly hard. You clear one part of the map and the enemy appear somewhere else and don't waste time in creeping up behind you. I know that spawn camping is a massive problem but maybe a quick message that the enemy's spawning area has shifted would be nice because we don't always have UAV support, I hate sneaking around in areas I think there are enemies when really its just me looking like a prat and no getting any kills. its also disorientating when you don't know the maps... personally I prefer the nonrespawn SOCOM style gameplay wher you can just point yourself in a direction you can be certain the enemy will be and just plough through them/hit a brick wall.
