Slight delay in my online gameplay. Can anyone help?

I have a PS3, and there is a split-second delay in the online gameplay on COD4 on my HDTV. When I use my bedroom tv, which is just a regular standard definition, it works perfectly. And it's not the HDMI cable, because I tried using the composite cable as well on both TV's. It only has a delay on my HDTV. But the thing is, I tried it on another HDTV, and it still has a split-second delay in the game. It's like I'll pull the trigger, and then it fires a half second later. But on my standard definition tv, it's right on. Can anyone help with this?

Its the tv, if a tv has over about 8ms response time you'll see noticeable game lag, certain models you can see game lag at 5 or more.
