Well, when you get to level 55 and you have all of the weapons, perks, and majority of the achievements completed, there really isn't much to do but play the game. I like the feeling of earning things and working your way to the top. It also gives you something to do and gives the game that much more of a replay value. I don't believe it to be a "nerd-wang enhancer" because I don't play to have the top rank over everyone. I just play and as my rank goes up, it goes up.
I do a lot of ground war matches because I'm in a big clan and there are at least nine of us on a lot of the time and you only get about 200-400 points per ground war game so that obviously shows I'm not doing all S&D to rank up as quickly as possible. Our clans literally wins 99% of all of our matches by a huge margin and when you blow a team out like that consistently and very quickly, you tend to get more points.
