It uses the same servers for multi-platform games. The only difference is that you pay for it. These problems could happen to you. I'm getting this message too now, so is my friend..(I'm at his house) It's been like this for a couple hours now.

We're both on 360's.

edit - It's back to working now..started working shortly after I made the original post lol.

I had it, all it took to fix was a simple reset of modem and router

Oh we tried that, like 5 times..gave it a break for awhile, then tried again and repeat process a number of times. After a few times of trying we just did something else until it started working again.

One thing I did notice however was when it wasn't working, the message of the day just had " EA Chicago:" with nothing under it..normally it says that, but with "Infinity Ward is hiring, blah blah" under it.

Point proven.

The problems started on the same day COD4 was released in europe. The servers were overloaded.

It also occured alot in the beta when they were doing small updates, so keep that in mind.
