The 40 gig is pretty much confirmed now. Many store workers been getting the SKU numbers through the computers.
October 12 people.
(Oh, and bundled with Spiderman 3)

The 20 gig actually had the Emotion Engine. So, technically, the 20 gig would probably be more expensive then the 40. The only difference isn't harddrive space. It is what is all in the hardware. Also, who and how they manufacture them makes a difference.

Zero, or anyone else, would you suggest getting the 40 GB or the 60 GB?

I would go with the 40 GB. All games take up minimal space, and are definitely not going to deplete your hard drive space. The only way you are going to fill up the 40 GB is if you never delete all the demos and trailers that you download off the Playstation store, and if you put a TON of music on. Like you said earlier in the thread, you can easily upgrade the hard drive space in the future (and for a cheaper price), so it really shouldn't be a concern.

I'll be picking up COD4 for my XBOX 360. I can't see it doing so well sales wise on the PS3. Way too many people have the 360 for this holiday season.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. I think I'll definitely go with the 40 GB a few days after it hits stores. Then, I'll pre-order COD4 and be set!
Hopefully Target will have it, they have a 10% discount when applying for a card.

These responses are from another thread regarding the emotion engine:

Without it, you will just have software emulation, and not as many titles will work, but a good percentage of them will. Without the EE, system updates will constantly add playable titles to work with backwards compatability.

They're taking it out with the release of the 80GB models, so the only way you can get a ps3 with the super backwards compatibility is to scoop up a 20/60 gig ps3 before they're all gone (I know the 20 gig is discontinued, but it is still available in some stores, or so i've heard).
