COD 4 beta!

Videos have been circulating around the internet of the COD 4 beta. They quickly get removed, but reposted, too. Try and catch them on Youtube. I was lucky enough to see the two videos and it was stunning. The players in the video sucked, though. One of them snuck up behind an enemy and went to knife him, but missed! He got his opponent with another knife attempt, though.

Anyway, the game looked amazing. The action was intense and the map was very alive with AI. Helicopters and jets could be seen flying above, as well as airstrikes blowing up various locations.

The beta is for the 360, and I got my email in to join it about 20 minutes after sign ups started. Their site crashed and burned under heavy traffic, but what to do was posted on other websites. They will be letting in people in waves, this was for the first wave. You had to fill out a form, answer some questions correctly and email them to someone. Then they check the answers, then everyone is basicly put into a LOTTO, and picked out at random.

I watched the COD4 beta video on the new OXM disc last night... looks like it should be one helluva great game, once it's all said and done!!!

Damn you guys. I didn't want to create a thread about it so I can get into the beta, but I guess I won't be in it. Now more people will get into it. I hate you all!

As Zero said, this is only the first wave of many to come.

A friend of mine who has the beta told me a story of a few minutes from a room he was in. Read and try not to drool too much...

I'm in Crash, on a balcony looking down towards where the crashed chopper is, shooting at some guy in a second story window. While I zoom in (Iron sights focus, background gets blurry, very realistic) and take well placed 3-round bursts, another enemy pops out at the window on the right. He pulls out an RPG, aims it right at me and fires. The RPG zoomed past my head as I hit the ground to avoid it. Smoke and dust covers my view from the explosion right behind me from the impact of the RPG hitting the wall. I get up and some guy on my team close by saw where the RPG came from and launches an air strike. Three jets pass overhead, drop a shitload of bombs, and destroy everything around that building (I think the guy got like 4 kills off that one air strike). So I start looking around again, and realize an enemy had just called in a helicopter. So now there's this Cobra attack chopper hovering over where most of our men are. Anyone running around outside is dropped like a fly by bullets coming from the sky. The Cobra sounds MEAN AS HELL, when it starts shooting at you YOU ARE ****ED and you know it! We had to get rid of that thing fast. We had all ran inside, and we were near a window. The guy next to me pulls out his RPG, looks up out the windows, and clips the chopper right on it's tail. The thing starts smoking, and spinning out of control, until it finally crashed a little off the map. UAV online. We see a group of enemies advancing from the right alleyway. I run back out and give covering fire for the guy on the first floor. He runs out while the enemies are taking cover, and throw a couple of flashbangs and stun grenades. Then he, and two other guys follow him, as he runs in that alleyway and stabs the hell out of two guys there, with me still looking over them....

That was 3 minutes worth of my last Team Deathmatch on Crash that lasted like ~ 30 minutes...

OH SH*T!!!!!

So I'm going out tonight to a party with a couple of friends in an hour or so, but decide to check my email before I start to get ready. Here's what I see in my inbox:

I guess I won't be playing it until tomorrow. I'm pretty excited though. I've seen beta videos, and the gameplay looks incredible.

I'm not asking you to risk getting in trouble and posting pictures or videos, but could you give us your opinion of how the game is and any stories that you think are awesome?

I know quite a bit on how the game works and its features, etc. From what I've heard, it sounds even more amazing than it looks!

If anyone else gets into the beta lottery starting monday, send a FR to xMidNightTx (two t's) on xbox live. I'd like to play with some of you guys, even though this is posted in the PS3 section.
