the 2 maps i try to skip everytime are countdown and showdown. i hate those 2 maps more than the devil hates holy water.

i really really really really wish cod4 had a server setup like socom2 did where you could go into a server and then browse through a list of ongoing games and pick which one you wanted to join, that'd be spiffy.

Yeah I got used to the whole matchmaking scheme after playing Halo 2 for so damn long. It really is annoying though, that in order to be able to play ranked you can't pick the map.

I also try to skip countdown and showdown, also including bloc and vacant. Here's the funny thing though, usually I'll vote to skip one of the maps and the vote will pass, but pass right onto another map I HATE, happens every time and it makes me sad .

yeah i get that crap all the time. the other thing that that usually pisses me off is when i'll jump into a game on a good map like crash in the last 2-3 minutes. then that one ends and it cycles into a bad map like showdown so i try to vote it and fail, then i bail out and jump into some other game only to be launched straight into the map i just tried to avoid, this has gone on for like 15-20 minutes straight some nights.

my typical cod4 night goes something like this........

showdown. "aww damn. on to the next room then."

showdown. "**** this map i aint playing it!"

showdown. "are you ****ing kidding me with this crap?"

crash. "sweet!"

phsyche! *host ended game*

showdown. "oh (&^%*)(_(&&* you dirty )(&&^%%$)+ i hate you soooo bad right now!"

showdown. "I QUIT! I HATE THIS GAME AND I'M TRADING IT IN!! BITE MY BAG INFINITY WARD! I SWEAR TO CHRIST I'LL NEVER PLAY THIS PILE OF CRAP AGAIN!"

Yea, I'm not a big fan of Showdown either, but it definitely is not my least favorite map. My least favorite map is Ambush because the map itself is too linear. There are only three ways across to each side, and people usually set up around the corners, which gets a bit annoying after a while.

I cannot stand when people start to vote to skip Countdown. Countdown is one of my favorite maps, especially when played on Headquarters.

I always find it funny how everyone hates Showdown, yet it reminds me so much of Crossroads (which everyone except me swears is the greatest Socom map in the history of the known universe ).

Well it did have the resteraunt in its favour, but really I preferred Fish Hook... after the grenade rain it was great as SEALs, and as Terrorists... perfection in a map really.

I like Ambush, it funnels all of the players into 3 different places to fight and neiter side of the raised road is better than the other so its a pretty fair map, it can go either way. Wetworks is not so good as it forces players on top of each other (the three general paths are too close) multiple times as its a long, narrow map. Its not square like most others, which actually does make a massive difference. Sabotage on Wetworks nearly always ends a draw after 2 minutes. Never trust a nonsquare map.

Blizzad + Sandstorm > all other socom maps
