COG tags are pretty much the same as Dog tags ( from fallen soldiers ) scattered about the levels in rubble and other locations. If you found a certain amount you'd get achievments. The Laptop idea is awesome because it throws in the intelligence realism factor. I'm almost as excited about that as I am the thought of peppering terrorists with the AC-130 Gunship in SP.
Edit
Actually the details I gave on my previous post were way partial. I had time to read the article in it's entirety while the refridgerator repairman was raping my checkbook.
Multiplayer has
16 maps right out of the box. Also states that out of the box COD4 offers 13 Matchmaking playlists on XBL and you need to rank up to unlock them all.
MP Modes are
Team Deathmatch
Search & Destroy
Headquarters
Domination
One on One Duel
1 Shot 1 Kill Hardcore Mode ( Sniper's Paradise )
You can also turn on Old-School mode where you have to stab someone not once, but 2 times ( Ah AH AHhhh ) with the Go-Go- Gadget Knife Arm of death
Also has a Party sytem ala Halo 3 that I think was on the Beta........
Finishing the game SP unlocks
Arcade Mode where you get Multiplier points for Headshots and stealthy stabbings and such .
Collecting all the intelligence in SP unlocks cheats such as being able to play the game in Black & White and infinite ammo...yada yada
