Like Rick mentioned, it's amazing how many innovating things people will discover on accident. I just hope the price of bottled water doesn't rise now.

It doesn't take 3000 degrees of heat to ignite it, when it is ignited it burns at 3000 degrees Farenheit.
The video explains that radio waves seperate the hydrogen from the oxygen in the water, the released hydrogen is what burns.
It's a pretty phenomenal discovery, that we're quite lucky he made.
If it's scalable, the potential applications for it are limitless.

I wonder how much the oil company's are going to be trying to pump money into research and line political pockets to try to prove that this is somehow worst for the enviorment then burning oil is.

I still belive this will never happen... Think about the hole oil made from corn... We have incredible technology as of now and every year you see cars coming out that can go 5 more miles per gallon then the year before. They have the technology to make a car that doesnt run on gas. I forgot the name but theres this sports car that doesnt run on gas its like 300,000$ but it can be done but the gov't wont allow it because so much tax is being pored into it. I dont know if any one understands what I'm trying to say but I bet it wont happen with in 30 years.
EDIT: Hot sports car with no gas tank / Electric roadster's maker says it does 130 mph -- but it doesn't come cheap
I found the link to the car 100,000$ and thats for a sports car. They can deffinatly make a cheap version of this.
Vegetable Oil—The New Fuel?
That is the link for the corn to be used as fuel. They started talking about doing this since I was in 8th grade. I am now graduated.

The Government won't be able to stand in the way of progress forever, nor will the oil industry.

The corn oil thing is old. The US is way behind in that technology. South American countrys have been using corn oil ran cars since the 70's or the 80's. Can't remember whcih. I will try to find a link

Hmm... I bet he's getting a huge military contract right now, to develop it into a weapon. Let's see, drop a bomb and have every news agency from here to Kaballah on your bum, or just fly in stealth mode, vaporize (yes I know, sounds like Batman Begins) the water supply and slowly kill the entire population of a region, unbeknownst to anyone.
What's cooler though, is they have actually found a way to use sugar as a fuel, and are currently in the process of creating sugar batteries, that will last forever, once depleted all you have to do is put sugar back in the battery.

They will never use Batteries that could run forever, it would put way too many people out of a job. The economic consequence of that would be astronomical. They have light bulbs that can last forever but they do not mass produce them.
And seeing as how doing that thing with the water would affect more then just the target country it would seem retarded. There are not that many desaltation(SP?) plants and the countries we have been fighting share with other countries.

I mostly meant to develop it into a fresh/salt water application. And your point is valid, most of the modern inventions have been squashed for the meer fact, of political/corporate interests. Not to mention the astoronomical effect on the economy it would have, you can't cut out billion dollar a year corporations. But at the same time, it also limits the future, you can only deny progress for so long until you have to embrace it. You would have to assume the water weapon would mainly be a focused device (once again, obviously, ties to Batman Begins, for obvious reasons). Great debate though, I'm so tired of the rampant "name calling" garbage, to actually have a thoughtful debate is refreshing.

I still don't think it will ever be a weapon to target water supplies. Just because the countrys the west have been fighting are 3rd world countries and they share the desaltation plants. And with that 'weapon' you would wipe out a whole regions water supply. But who knows, John Kanzius may find a way for it to work with fresh water aswell, or someguy 4000 years from now may stumble his way into finding the answer.
But I could see it turned into a weapon to target humans. I know we have salt in us and I never took a biology class, but somehwere in us there has to be salt and water. Although it would hurt like hell, it would get the job done.
