LANSDOWNE, Pa. (AP) - A 13-year-old boy fatally stabbed his brother with a steak knife after the 16-year-old refused to turn over a video game controller, authorities said.

Jahmir Ricks was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Antwan Ricks at their home outside Philadelphia. The older boy died of a single stab wound to the chest, police said, and a bent and bloody knife was recovered from the home.

Lansdowne police said the younger boy told them, "I just stabbed my brother," when they arrived at the home Sunday.

Police believe the argument started when Antwan Ricks would not turn over the game controller after losing a game to his brother. Police Chief Daniel Kortan said the rules of the house were that the person who lost had to give someone else a chance to play.

The argument escalated into a brawl, and the younger boy grabbed the knife, Kortan said.

Antwan Ricks was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Jahmir Ricks, who was charged as an adult, was being held without bail. It was not immediately known if he had obtained an attorney. He faces charges of third-degree murder, assault, recklessly endangering another person and possession of instruments of crime.

That's sad and it does bring a bad name for video games. However, the 16 year old did violate the house rule " You must hand over the controller after you die / loose. "
The 13 year old stabbing his brother to death stems from something far greater than playing video-games. Of course, the Anti Video-Game leeches care not about that.
I 'd like to know just what game it was ????

Kids are getting more stupid every single year. This also give PA a bad name as well.

I'm glad he's getting charged as an adult. Even though my brother is 6 years older than I am me and him have NEVER gotten into a brawl. Sure there was some "Go **** yourself" and "STFU" moments, but never anything to fight or get stabbed over.

I just can't believe this kid as the sense to even pull a knife on his brother let alone kill him.

I really fell sorry for their parents. By the looks of it they may have not raised their kids the best, but I'm sure they loved them dearly and now one's dead and the other is probably going to be in jail for the rest of their life.

I don't know how the activists are going to use this as an example. He stabbed him over the controller, not the game.

Yep. And not the parents who really are at fault for not teaching their kids that violence is not a way to solve problems.

See what a stupid video game can do to someone? Just that moment he did something wrong, and probably will end up in jail for the rest of his life. I mean killing your own brother? Come on. It seems like he didn't care because he said "I Just Stabbed My Brother". He also killed someone that had a full life ahead of him. I guess they both ruined each others.

Yeah I am also curious as to what game it was. When I read "boy kills brother over video game" I thought World Of Warcraft automatically. Guess not, seeing as it had a controller.
