Good job Chimaira, just try to start an internet fight. -REP!
Some CQC would be nice, so then you could have a CQC only room.

I want a knife. I'd camp behind walls and wait for someone to run by, then I'd stab their face.

Me, start a fight? No way. I am just simply telling him that if Navy SEALs dont use M60's, then I am Ru Paul.
and I think the minigun was retired after the movie Predator. I know that they are in aircraft, but an infantry carried minigun, thats been retired sice 1950 i think.

Yea, a kinfe would be cool as hell. It would give you just a little more satisfaction knowing you can sneak up on the dirty little prone snipers and slice their neck.
In all the other games I have played that have had knifes, it didnt really work. But I am sure that a SOCOM game could make it work.
A mussle loader, no. Just simply no. Just think about reloading. You would have to stand on the spot while your guy reloads, meanwhile a noob with an SR is moving into position and takes you out 10 seconds into you reloading.

The U.S. military never issued a minigun for infantry. The idea is propstrous the weight would put you in red without any other weapons or attatchments and the recoil would knock you down.

What's wrong with the tacos? Why do people compare this to other stuff? Why makes it special? I haven't eat tacos for 3 years. I might try to eat again. It's good though.

An awesome wepons would be a NUKE GRENADE...NOT! But, it wuold be cool if the SEALs had tripwired claymores. that way you wouldn't have to watch them all the time. Also, the SEALs do get a chain gun it's on the SOC-R.

Not to mention you'd run out of ammo in a matter of seconds.
We have a Socom wishlist for a reason, go post there, people.

The weight of a minigun would be heavy enough, but add on the battery, the ammo, your Interceptor body armor, and al of your feild gear, it just couldn't happen.
The minigun in predator was fake. I mean, like plastic fake. Special effects were heavily added. The minigun fires bullets at a rate of 100 a second. 100 bullets on a chain belt weighs a lot. for the 8 second bursts in the movie, that would be 800 rounds. It's impractical to carry that many. The chains would fall off of you.
::EDIT::
Ok, so i was wrong. world.guns.ru has this to say:

In the year 1987 the movie "Predator" (starring A. Schwarznegger) hit the screens. One of the most impressive scenes was the one where the US Commandos, led by "Dutch" (Schwarznegger), attempted to fight back the alien Predator. One of Commandos was armed with the distinctive weapon, a 6-barreled rotary Minigun, fed from backpack ammo box. This gave the impression that the Miniguns can be used for infantry support. It must be noted, that in this movie a special, blank firing version of the Minigun was sued. The electric motor was powered via cable, hidden in the actor's pants, and the actor had to carry bulletproof vest and protective mask to avoid injuries from the fast and violently ejecting empty cases. Had this gun being fired using real ammunition, the actor would ended lying on his back, being forced off the legs by the violent recoil. The "backpack" ammo capacity, also, could be worth only several seconds of fire. lets calculate: 2 000 rounds of 5.56mm ammo will weight about 25 kg (55 lbs); 2 000 rounds of 7.62mm will weight about 2 times more, making such load almost impossible to carry on foots. yet this load of ammo will worth only 20 or so seconds of fire. Add some powerful batteries to power electrical drive of about 4KWt (4+ horse-power), and the bulk of the gun itself, and you'll see that even the strongest man won't be able to carry this load, less to fire it with any chance to hit, due to extremely powerful recoil.
