Quick Sniping Vs. Prone Sniping- The Lowdown...

This is a full-blown debate on the following aspects...

• Skill involved (QS Vs. Proning)
• Fun factor of either style
• Fun Factor of ppl who are already dead (watching)
• Level of respect from either style.

I will notify the moderators of this thread, becasue although I am telling you guys I want a clean thread...that probably wont happen.

My arguement is QSing requires a tremoundous amount of skill, because of the fact the the QSer needs to time the jumping with the shot, while proning snipers sometimes dont even have to time their shots well (SR-25SD anyone?)

Plus who wants to sit around for 4 minutes watching some guy just sit there with a ghillie?

And dont give me the realism crap too, because this game is unrealistic. So I dont care if QS is unrealistic.


This thread I made is my attempt to settle this arguement so other threads are not tainted by it and taken off topic, and locked.

Quick Sniping doesnt take skill anymore, everyone can do it. Some people are better than others, but all I see now is everyone jumping around like idiots and taking every shot possible. Quick Sniping on s2 > s3. Socom 3 is noob friendly, its like Zipper made this game to be fun for the people who sucked at socom 2.

There is definantly more of a challenge in quick sniping. And to the guy above me, anyone can quicksnipe yes, but they will be mostly below average. It takes alot of practice to get the the point you can get some good kills.

Prone sniping is rediculously easy and irritating. When you prone...your xhairs do not bobble at all, and they move slower, so it's easier to hit people. What makes it worse is when this person is in a bush....with a ghille.

Then I come along and own them, either mid air or just plain qsing with index...and they complain that it's a glitch.

This really is no contest. Prone sniping takes no skill and can be done with one ****ing hand.

I can quicksnipe, BUT I BLOW AT IT.....

Lol I was watching this guy quicksniping some dudes in a game, each guy kept charging him like one at a time with Mks, and m4s etc.....He quick snipes all of them, 8 people in a row. And they couldnt kill him. lol

Quick sniping does take more skill, but now everyone is starting to do it and it is irritating when you die from it. Prone sniping is pretty easy, but kinda necessary from the longest possible distance when shooting someone.

Quick sniping is more fun cuz you can taunt more after the games... But both sniping stiles have become B.S. in SOCOM. Both can be done by almost anyone, just at different levels. Noob prone snipers may have a hard time finding good spots. Noob quick snipers will miss damn near every shot. I, personally use both, but prefer quick sniping.

One is more fun, but the other may be more practical. Here, take my example.

It was 7vs1 In harvester, and all I had was an M82. Now if I ran around trying to quicksnipe people like a fool, even if I was amazing I would get taken out by one of the other 7 that are breathing down my neck. So I went prone and waited it out, actually ending up winning the round.

So If you aren't rediculously outnumbered QS, but if you are. Hunker down boy. And I personally could care less what someone does with their sniper rifle, they bought the game. Let them lay prone.

I do a little bit of both.

I only prone snipe when its Breach or something, or where you have to gaurd an area, but most of the time I'm on the move and don't stay in one spot forever.

I like to quick snipe alot to, I do it in small spawns all the time, and I try to quicksnipe people in normal rooms when I don't have my pistol out and I encounter a tango.

Simply put, I do both.
