OK obviously you know nothing of the MK.48, In the army it is called an M249 S.A.W (Squad Automatic Weapon). The sights are zeroed for 300m. On the familiarization course the furthest target is at 700m. The only thing you can use is the iron sights. I would Know all about this weapon since I carried it in Iraq.
One more thing, the m16, m4, and mk.48 all use the same round. The round decides on distance not the gun. The gun decides on accuracy.
