Why are mics so fragile?

Well Ive gone through 3 mics so far, and just recently my Logitech mics broke on is own..And i mean on its own.. I actually took care of this mic i never stepped on it, threw it, spilled water on it etc..My last mics broke from me stepping on them but this one i kept perfect...The blue light still comes on but it just doesn't work anymore. I can talk but no1 can hear me nor can i hear anyone. Havent played socom since because it just sux without a mic.. I think they make these mics crappy so that they break and you have to buy a new one... Flame away

I think your problem might be that your router or Firewall might be blocking it. I suggest you do buy a new mic and test it out and if it doesnt work than it is definetly your router but I dont think mics break that easily cause I think I did everything stupid that you can with my mic.

I haven't really had any problems with my mic as of yet but to stray a bit off topic I went through a couple of controllers the past couple of years. They're just so cheap and fragile and break so easily. I think that the peripherals etc. that Sony makes are just flimsy. If you compare PS2 controllers/headsets to XBOX's you'll see a huge difference. I think if I even ran over my XBOX controller with my car it would still work. With the PS2 controller however my 2 yr old nephew banged on it slightly and it got a bit messed up. WTF is up with that?

I don't know why so many people have mics that break so easily. The mice i have is th eone you get at bestbuy, or wallmart, for 39.99. the playstation brand one. Anyway, i've dropped it, stepped on it many times, whipped it across the room, and my dog has chewed on it. The foam cover on the mic and earpiece are gone, and it still works fine. you guys just are bad with your stuff. LOL

Bman, he is atlking about the headset itself quit working just at random. It has happened to me more than once. I have gone through 4 of these damn things. They just quit working, even without a router and such.

Well obviously a mic is going to break if you step on it... I'm on my second mic, and mine just stopped working one day... after a long long long time of use.... so I guess I wasn't too upset.

The mics arent that crappy... why would you say that... since this is the first time it "broke" on it's own. Its not the mics fault you stepped on it the other times.

How do you know that nobody hears you if you can't hear anybody?

And if you haven't played, how do you know it isn't your router/lag/firewalls, as Bman previously suggested? And Unknown... He says the blue light still comes on. If that's on, to me the headset still works. If it quit randomly, the light wouldn't come on, would it?

ya ive gone threw 3 also i would suggest not buying a sony ps2 mic. usually its because a wire comes lose or shorts out. i bought a logitech one from justdeals.com i was like 16 bucks and its a lot more durable than the crappy ps2 brand ones

Yea mine just broke. Im looking to buy a new one soon though.

it broke because I pulled the chord and I head a *SHHHHHHH* sound and it just didnt work.

I can still use it though.

I can hear pple but not talk so I got lucky.

Lol the ear thingy poped out when i got p1ssed...quickscoped by the worst sniper in my squads LOL

anyways it still works fine but dam the logitech ones are like 10x better than the garbage sony ones.
