i'm on my fourth mic.. it feels like mines break for no reason. i can hear people but when i go to talk. they say they cant hear me. then sometimes the mic will work then all of a sudden it don't work n e more.. so the headsets are crap thats how they make their money.. make cheap breakable ones so when they break people have to go out and buy another one.

I dont see how people can blame it on production, that they are made badly.
I am on my second mic, and when my first one broke, it was my fault because I snapped the stupid thing in half, and the earpiece broke.

So yes, I am on my second mic, since the beginning of Socom 2. I would not blame crappy production, just because you break 4 of your mics. Maybe you should look at how you take care of them, rather than just shoving it in somewhere and breaking it.

Well, I've got through 1 mic. It broke on it's own I had it for almost a year. But my controller is perfect, I think. Well, I've thrown it, bit it, tried to break it in half, and smashed it against stuff and it still works as if it's brand new.

Dont feel bad man i have had the same problem. over the past 2 years i have bought 4 logitech 40$ headsets. on 2 of them i had problems with the mute section of the headset as the wire seems to loosen pretty easy. people told me they could barely hear me over the constant static sound it would make. for sometime i had to pinch the wire near the mute section just to get a sentence out but over time that stopped working. the last one that i bought i really went out of my way to take care of it making sure not to step on the wire, tug on it, spill anything on it or drop it but after just 3 weeks it just completely stopped working. i can see people talking but i cant get the mic and i cant hear anyone ever. lucky for me i lost the reciept and even if i had it gamestop told me theres nothing i can do other then send it directly to logitech. me being the lazy bastard i am i didnt bother doing that and i went and bought my 4th one in two years. hopefully nothing happens from now till the ps3 comes out otherwise i wont have a mic.

go to eb and buy a new mic, also purchace the extra warrenty so when it breaks you can get a new one and purchace the extra warrenty on that

this is the reason why when i get pissed off i dont have to worry about wasting 40 bucks, just 7

What I wish is that they would make a wireLESS mic for the PS2 because Im 100% that everyone hates having the 500000ft cord for the mic that just gets tangleded and when u put it away you have to wrap it around the mic like 15times..Im pretty sure that the XBOX has wireless mics right?? Don't see ANY reason why the PS2 can't have it, anyway getting back on topic yeah BENDER someone in my clan broke 4 mics since SOCOM 3 came out lol

And sorry to drift away abit from topic but what do you guys think about a Wireless mic for the PS2?? Would you buy one? why or why not? and also do you think the PS3 will feature wireless mic technology?(i hope so) I wouldn't mind spending $50 on a wireless mic as long as It had like a yr warranty or sumthin like that...

Im starting to think that they know they are selling faulty equipment but they dont want to fix the problem b/c they would lose a ton of money.

Mics break so easily for a reason.

Sony, and Logitech for that matter, are both money making companies.

If they made immaculate headsets, that never broke, you would never have to go out twice to get a new one. Hence the reason they make them superfragile; because they know that somehow you will end up breaking your headset (i.e- pets, sitting/stepping on it, tugging it, etc.), and eventually purchasing a new one because gaming isn't the same, especially online gaming, without a headset. They're making money guys, they have to eat!
