Right now I go to one of New York State's Universities (Stony Brook to be precise). I am currently majoring in Biology but am thinking of going for a double major, the second being in Spanish. Stony Brook is one of the bigger, and academically better, universities New Yrok offers (1250 being the lowest SAT score you need in order for them to consider your application. I don't know what it is now with the new SAT format, but 1250 minimum is a pretty high standard when you look at the nation's average). Right now we have just under 20,000 students here and I have to say that at first I didn't think state universities were all that great. Now after experiencing one firts hand I have to say I am impressed with how tough it is to succeed here. For example, my Chemistry class has over 540 kids in one lecture.
