dualshock analog led
...is not constant red. is this an indication of the connection when playing online? can't remember it was like this offline, but then again I did not have so much time to study it :)

No, the red light on your controller has nothing to do with your internet connection.

If it is flashing, it might mean there are some problems with your controller though, like some loose wires.

Yea, the red light on the controller only indicates weather or not your sticks are active. Some games (very few) give the option to let you turn the sticks off using the button in between each stick and if you do that then the red light will turn off.

I dont think anything on any controller indicates online connectivity as far as I am aware.

PS: Just to second what ^ said, if the light on the controller is ever flickering then its loose wires, its almost never the game that makes it flicker.

That is 100% true BoyEngland.

I also know that the LED light does not have anything to do with online activity because the cables inside the controler are not for the internet and are not compatible so it can not read anything about the internet.

Great explanation BoyEngland that clears this question up.

I had a controller that had a messed up plug that didn't fit into the PS2 controller port very well. All the time, in the middle of a game, if the plug came loose, the light would go out and the controller didn't work.
If its not the cord or the wires inside the controller, its the plug or your ps2's controller port.

The red light in the center means that the Analog Sticks are active. If its not on then the Analog Sticks arent required for the game (although most do). If its bliking then either you have a bad cable connection or your A.Sticks are jammed.
