Will they EVER fix the disconnect problem?

When I got the game in November and I played in enlisted ranks so that I'd eventually get my officer rank, I realized that about 40% of the games I played counted as disconnects, despite the fact that i NEVER got disconnected. In fact, it was completely random whether the game I had just played would actually count, or if it would count as a disconnect for no reason. After I got my officer rank (4 star - legitimately), I decided to stop playing ranked games completely b/c nobody ever played in the flag grade rooms and I didn't want to lose rank in pointless flag grade rooms where everyone camped. Anyway, recently, as you know, Zipper added "US East Ranked 1, East Ranked 2...etc." rooms to the server where anyone who is verified can play, and so I've been playing ranked demo medley for the past 5 days, and over those 5 days, i've played 28 games....5 of those games have counted, and 23 have counted as disconnects for absolutely no reason. As a result, my rating has dropped more than 350 points over those last 5 days, and I feel that it's pointless to keep playing ranked games if I don't even understand WHY these games count as disconnects for absolutely no reason. Socom 2 never did this...if u got disconnected or your game froze, you'd lose rating points, but this is just absurd in socom 3...i finish every game with no problem and since the ranked rooms came up, like 85% of my games have counted as disconnects.

Is anyone else having the same problem? Does anyone know why this happens? I have a comcast cable modem and I don't lag (at least nobody has ever told me that I lag, so i assume i don't), so my connection shouldn't be the problem. This is just extremely frustrating, and so it obviously feels like I just shouldn't play ranked games since they won't count. Help? Anybody?

I too am being sodomized by this disconnect bug. I'd hovered around 300pts for a long time, then after the last patch I am now at -18? WTF
64 disconnects, that's bullsh.t. That is 960 points I've lost on account of this junk.

They should just stop tracking them altogether.

But hey, I just looked at my stats and it finally says the HK 36 is my preferred weapon.

Probably not. I've got 65 disconnects. I'd say about half of them (TOPS!) are actual disconnects. What can ya do?

I have over 90 disconnects now, but maybe 2 or 3 of them are actual disconnects! ALL the other disconnects are for absolutely no reason...I just play every game and some games actually count, and most just count as disconnects...it makes no sense

does anybody know WHY this happens? i've heard it's just b/c the servers are worse for socom 3 since there's 32 people in each room and stuff, but i mean, zipper would've anticipated this, and, if anything, would've gotten better servers.

there really is no excuse for me getting 90 disconnects where i never actually get disconnected

I have alot of disconects / quits. I have Roadrunner which I consider to be an excellent service provider. For a while the quits / disconects were the same number, which I found to be strange. Now, I've given up on rank all together. I'm hoping they fix , erase, and restart everything. H3LL, It still says on my stats that favorite weapon is the M-16 which is the gun I've used the least since November. Nothing is Accurate just like in real life.....
Would be nice for us to get a complete overhaul and have everything changed.

yeah the disconnects=gagagagagagay.

i just get them cus the game feels like it -_-. The ranking system is to strict...period. I liked in socom 2 that you could abort a game and go play with a friend and barely anything if not nothing happened to your rank now abort = major rank loss.

there has to be a reason why these disconnects occur...whether it's their servers or our internet or what...but i know this has been a problem since the game was released...and zipper STILL hasn't released definitive word on what the problem is...it's absurd

we should just complain until they give us answers, b/c i can't stand this disconnect bs

I would be nice if there were no disconnects recorded to your stats at all and no one's experience should have to suffer because of this. Its just too bad there is a need to penalize players for leaving games early. If anyone could just quit when they were loosing we'd never be able to play a complete game. The solution may be to separate the disconnects from the aborts/quits and have the server be able to recognize the difference. Then penalize the players who abort mid-game but those who are disconnected from the server unwillingly should not be penalized. But whats to stop people from just powering off so the servers think you disconnected? Its too bad we all have to take the hit for those cheating twerps who do that type of stuff. They need to make the servers and stats work before giving us no option but to put up with it.

How about in S4 you just buy your rank? Then people would quit caring altogether:

5 Star = $1000
4 Star = $500
3 Star = $400
2 Star = $300
1 Star = $200
Captain = $100
Silver Cookie = $80
Gold Cookie = $60
Lt. = $40
Silver bar = $20
Gold bar = $10

That way it's obvious who the tools are.
