Yea ok....you guys are debating if the game *should* be more realistic. Well it *cant*. Theyre not going to remake socom again so just deal with it or dont play the game. JFDSAKFJKLSDJFLKASDJF

Welcom to the party pal: Socom 4 is being previewed at E3 next month.
But you maybe play twice a month, so why act like you know what you're talking about?

If u read what I said.. I said they're not going to remake socom, as in SOCOM 3 for PS2. Not socom 4. Of course they're gonna have realistic qualities on s4...cmon its gonna be on the ps3, of course. Also, you cant *remake* something that hasn't been made yet. (aka socom 4)

Lost in translation then, I guess. No one had mentioned remaking the game, so I thought your were implying this was the last Socom.

Seth Luisi, the senior producer at Computer Entertainment America, is one of the developers with Zipper that is developing Socom 4... he was quoted when discussing the success of the Socom series that and what the future held for Socom 4 saying,

"We're looking to do a pretty drastic departure from the current game."

(Information found in Official U.S. Play Station Magazine)

Just some food for though, what do you think will be different/the same???

Some of my other ideas include extending ranges somewhat (not to full realism though) make auto-deviation on bullets close to realistic where spray and recoil are concerned and put the game-balance accuracy factor entirely in the reticle wiggle with a wiggling crosshair even when unscoped depending on accuracy (ie. more when standing, less with a laser etc.) but the cluster one makes on a wall should look like what one would expect irl.
A couple people meeting up with automatic weapons within 10 feet of one another, someone is gonna end up a casualty in a few seconds, no circling, no jumping...doing that stuff would be a BAD IDEA in real life, and it should be a BAD IDEA in Socom...the only realistic movement would be movement from cover to cover or moving to and shooting from strategic angles. Strafing contests IMHO are not really what this game is about, nor is driving around in circles when infantry are fighting something online special forces and crack terror squads should be doinger either.
hey, i understand u want a more realistic game play, cuz ur a military fan like me, and i understand that the army does not run through a field skipping and hopping like panseys, but its a game, and people will play like that, and they already have a solution to this, i think, arent there rooms that are titled "TACTICAL ROOM" that you are supposed to play using real military tactics, like clearing a room with 1 or 2 grenades, then 3 or 4 guys move in stratigicly to clear the room... or driving in formation in the technicals and humvees to provide max fireing range and defense, not doing doughnuts and hoping you hit someone in the process. bsides, if ur the gunner on that thing, i get dizzy when ppl do that...

so I dont think they gotta punish the players 4 playing the way that they been for years, just go to a room with people that play more like you...

cuz thats what i do, b4 i go into any room, i look for ones with tactical in the name. so maybe that will help

In the next patch, they should include a urination bar next to our health, which indicates how badly our character needs to pee. If the bar is too high then our accuracy should suffer. In addition, doing a victory dance over a dead body while having a full urination bar could show our players giving the dead body the golden shower.

Think of the possibilities!

funny....not to sound like a broken record or anything. It is entirely possible to make the game more accurate and encourage more realistic gameplay WITHOUT bogging down completely into minutea. It's hardly black and white, Imagine a primitive socom where there is no encumberance, and all bullets do the same damage...one could see the same "why don't you model the soldier's blood pressure also" sarcastic-type comments directed to the same improvements already in the game. It's not black and white and I hardly think the perfect point is where it is now.

That raises the point of where it actually is. One can make the game more realistic without it becoming a target shooting/medical trauma simulator...at least incramentally. So I ask the question: if you don't want to take it an inch farther, why not?

I think in socom 4, there will be alot more leaning out of walls and ****, doing that frog hope thingy in close spaces would make it nice to see um some other stuff that could be done is more sniper rifles, being able to pick what kind of bullet u wanna use, bigger ones for sniping people out of cars through roof, and what not.
