I also recieved the e-mail. We can probaly expect the packs by no more than Thursday. Same thing happened when my friend got an e-mail from Bungie a few days before they released the new maps about a year ago(Before the disk release.). Can't wait.

I honestly can't wait for the maps, wait, haven't I said the samething before.

they're smart. by making these maps the majority of people are going to buy it, and then people who didn't want to buy it will feel left out and succumb to conformity.

the thing is every bodys been talkin about snow maps and every other type of map but heres what i think the first 3 maps will be hd maps from socom 2 the second pack will be maps that appeared on socom 2 and 1 although if u read the faq "will feature ---classic--- maps from the ---original--- title that launched the hit franchise, SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs," and the third will be 3 new maps now then i have all three socoms but only ever played 2 and 3 so i think the second pack will consite of maps found on both s1 and s2 and i think it will be crossroads at least. the problem with s1 and s2 maps is that most of them are similar to s3 maps such as crossroads and citidel now this is all speculation till they come out but i havent heard many peaple ask for snow maps and the reason why is becouse thier are alot of noobs to socom that have made s3 thier first socom title i was never very hot on snow maps but it would be cool to have them as for the maps i dont think a whole lot of peaple will purchase them after this last patch most have become disgruntled with the game for me i always play suppresion but latley ive been trying new modes the problem is i can barraly find anything else to play no extraction or any thing else maybe 2 or 3 demo's 1 convoy and not much else sorry ive gotten of on a rant i will get the maps so what will the second pack have i think nightstalker 'crossroads' at least but i dont know about the third what would be good is for all socom fans to insite on more than 3 old maps remember socom does stuff as test like the s2 hard drive maps where only a test for s3 sized maps thier selling these map packs 1 for profit and 2 i think as a test for the ps3 version wich will probably be a pay form of socom 4 u know they sell map packs on line then say well if they buy that thell definatly pay for numerous online updates and map and gun releses for s4 oh well there i go ranting again time to stop before i get banned

The word "insite" does not exist, I believe you meant "insist".

Anyway, yes it's hard to find anything other than suppression in the public rooms. If you look around though, you'll find other rooms. A big factor in this is that most people favor the smaller maps because they go quicker, and the action is faster. True tactical players will be open for anything.

If all else fails, make your own and name it something typical that will get people in there.

As far as the map packs, snow maps are a fan favorite, especially on these boards. If I had to guess based on their popularity in Socom 2, I'd say the S1/S2 maps will be Crossroads, Frostfire, Desert Glory, Fish Hook and Vigilence. I'd like to see Blizzard or Requim in there, but we'll have to wait and see. I also have the hope that the third pack is entirely new maps from no previous title.
