Weapon Setups for Novice Players
If you are very new to the online world of SOCOM 3, here are some weapon setups that might help you along while you get the hang of online gameplay.
SEALS:
M-16 A2
w/High Scope and Rifle Laser
Mk-48
w/Bipod and Rifle Laser
M-60 E3
w/Bipod
M-87 ELR
w/High Scope and Bipod
IW-80 A2
w/Rifle Laser and Front Grip
HK-36
w/Front Grip and Rifle Laser
HK-5
w/Red Dot Scope and Rifle Laser
Terrorists:
M-16 A2
w/High Scope and Rifle Laser
AG-94
w/Red Dot Scope and Rifle Laser
STG-77
w/Rifle Laser and Front Grip
RA-14
w/Rifle Laser and Front Grip
F-90
w/No Attachments
M-60 E3
w/Bipod
M-82 A1
w/High Scope and Bipod
The reason I pick these weapons are because of the relative ease of use. These weapons provide a good basis for learning which can lead to much more varied attachment selections.
These are just some ideas for the new online people out there. This is just my opinion, so feel free to add on what you like.

*addition*
You know, I've found (for myself, just offering it to those who MIGHT like to try something different) that whenever I've used a weapon without any attachments for about.........5 or so games, when I start to actually USE the attachments, I'm much more efficient...
I really don't know why that is....
But I guess people could try it and see how that works.

lat me just add one thing in
dont mean to insult you or anything miller but..
bipods on sniper rifles are pointless, iv sniped my whole socom career..in beginning i used bipods, now i dont, well on machine guns sometimes..
but on sniper rifles they dont steady scope, it just increases accurace in prone out of scope..which..doesnt really help
so, when your sniping..do not use a bipod, just adds more weight

Bipods will steady the scope while you are proned. When you scope in while proned the crosshairs steady alot quicker then they would without a bipod.
Remember, I'm gearing this for newer people. Newer people won't have the skills yet to be able to zoom in quickly and get the kill. With the bipod, they can practice this skill (i.e. run, drop to prone, zoom in, and take the shot with less crosshair wobble).
I've been sniping since day one also. There is no such thing as a useless attachment. The attachments are made to take into account the many different playing styles of SOCOM.
Remember, just because you may not find an attachmant useful to your playing style, doesn't mean that it's automatically useless for everyone else (Example: I use the low scope alot, but most people think that attachments is pointless.)

Well, I gotta disagree w/ you there, dan... It does increase your accuracy, however little it may be... At least I think it does....
Try running around w/ an M14 w/ no attachments for about 3 rounds.
Then do the same thing w/ a laser on it and you should notice a bit of difference.

Exactly! That attachment will get you tons of headshots. I mainly use it on the HK5 though.
