This topic is on using teamwork to get kills (teamwork of 2 and 4, more specifically).
Most of the time, when a strategy is drawn up for a team, it consists of each person being assigned a job or area to cover. While the team might have the whole field covered rather well, have they taken into account what will happen if that one person guarding a certain area gets taken out early in the game?
Alot of the time, this is where the plan will start to fall apart, unless a contingency has been thought of in advance. One way to avoid this, is to make your attack/defense plan around 2 to 4 man fireteams. I say 2 to 4 because of how you can make even fireteams on your team as long as you have full rosters for the game (i.e. 16 players can make either 4 4-man fireteams, or 8 2-man fireteams). The objective to to have well balanced fireteams that can multitask depending on the situation.
I'll use Devil's Road Small (8 versus

as an example:
SEAL Team (divided into 4 teams of 2 each)
Team One: (Sniper Team) One person is armed with his/her most skilled sniper rifle. The other person is armed with a good short-range rifle or submachine gun (i.e. M-4 or HK-5). While the first person concentrates on sniping, the second person's job to to provide immediate cover for that sniper as long as possible. The area of concern for that sniper will be the lake area, and the Terrorist village.
Team Two: (Defender Team) Both people on this team can be armed with GLs, or some other types of support weapons ( i.e. M-60/Mk-48 ). Their role is to provide general defense of the area, and setup crossfires on well-traveled routes. You can split these two people up as long as they aren't too far away from each other.
Team Three and Four: (Assault Teams) Arm these teams with effective assault rifles (i.e.IW-80 A2, M-16 A2). The job of these teams will be flanking/rushing. One team can rush on the left side, and one can rush the right side.
SEAL Team (divided into 2 teams of 4 each)
Team One: (Sniping/Defense) Two members of the team can snipe while the other provide the double-duty of keeping the snipers alive, and providing general defense of the area.
Team Two: (Assault/Deception) Equip at least two members with smoke GLs. Once the round begins deploy at least 1 smoke round right into the terrorist village. Deploy the next 2 smoke rounds in the opposite direction that you are planning to rush. Begin your rush, but keep your team spaced out so one grenade won't take them all out. You can also deploy smoke on both sides, and in the center of the map to confuse your enemy as to which way you will take.
These are just examples. I'm sure with a little imagination, you can come up with a better setup. The main thing to remember is that it's alot better to have two (or four) people covering an area, versus just one.
