I used to have DSL and it messed up my alarm system. You have to put a DSL filter on every phone, or better yet do what I did and run a phone line straight from the phone switch box to the outlet where you connect your modem. That will bypass you phones completely.
If you are wireless your cordless phone could be interferring with the Wi-Fi signal. They could possibly be in the same frequency range especially with an older phone or router.

and check your connection speed to make sure you are recieving the bandwidth you are paying for. A bad connection could also cause the disconnects.
