Did Socom keep you loyal to Sony & the PS2?

As far as gaming history is concerned, I am a greybeard from the telstar days. I have always had multiple systems until now. I find that the Socom series has kept me largely blind to other games on the market.

For you young whipper-snappers, a Telstar is the console after Pong.

I hear you, but I had my PS2 before the socom series came out, and as I stated in my previous post it is the reason that I keep my PS2 ( I also like the EA sports games on ps2 better. I am more used to the controller layout).

In the relation to the xbox being superior in graphics and power. Well, just an fyi on this one. The Xbox came out an entire YEAR later. If MS didnt make a more powerful system than the PS2, they would have been laughing stocks of the entire game community.

If you are a true gamer, console or pc, you should know how much the price drops on technology with in a years time.

Need not mention, Sony completely screwed MS when the Xbox debuted. This is when Sony dropped the price of the PS2 for Christmas and MS was forced to do the same. After two months of the Xbox being out, it had to slash its price by $100 bucks. Talk about a b!tch slap!

Someone mentioned the controller, and that is what really kept me w/ the Sony over the Xbox. I really hated the layout of the Xbox controller and the PS2 just works great for me. Although, I still have scars from losing the plastic ends of my Atari paddles and the square corners from the NES controllers.

Releasing 360 earlier than PS3 was a BIG mistake for ol' Bill. Sure it will get it's hype sooner and more people wil already have them when PS3 comes around, but now Sony has the ability to go analyze a 360 and make their own product better!

I wouldn't go as far as to say Microsoft sucks. My computer is running off of it as we type. It's a good program. Bill Gates is a force to be reckoned with. But yeah, I am loyal to Sony, even through these crappy Socom servers.

I always stuck with playstation because it's what I had first. I bought a used ps1 for $120 in 1999, and then a ps2 about 6 months after it came out.

I was never an xbox fan because of the controllers, I just don't dig them.

xbox 360 is enticing, but a lot of people will let theirs collect dust once the ps3 hits and blows it away.

ps also is the home of many of my favorite franchises: socom, gta, mgs, and tomb raider.

And I'm very much looking forward to a new socom title on the pay to play service of the ps3!!!!

I staying with ps2 I had ps1 and I want to continue to buy the series.Best thing about ps2 is that the online is free.

i stay with the ps2 because of most of the games for it. the ps2 has so many more greatttt games then xbox. acecombat 4 hightened my interest along with gta3(Before xbox). then came socom2, W00T!!!! then rentin game after game for ps2, and loving ever minute. xbox may have a better online service, and better graphics capabilities, but most ps2 games have all i need. some online play, nice graphics (not a necessity), and some veryyyy well planned storylines. i did have interest for awhile, but s2 came with the patch, then i heard of re4 and acecombat 5. and now here i am, rambling about useless crap. i'm gonna wait for the ps3, i have no need for a 360 as no tittles appeal to me.
