Socom makes you want to join the SEALs or Special Forces?

Well being a Marine I can tell you that you wouldn't have even become a reservist with that problem. They train every Marine on an M40A1 as part of weapons training, hence the supremacy of the marksmanship of the Marine Corps. over the other branches.

This has to be the dumbest thread ever!! Playing a video game makes you want to join the Seals and/or military? Let's compare: real life - vidoe game. Real life you get shot, you die, There is no waiting for the next round and the respawn. Sitting on the couch all day and stuffing your face with junk food or being in boot camp, getting yelled at, PT out the a**, no sleep, sh** food, and cleaning everything. Yeah that's a great idea! I'm great at SC3 so I'll join the military. Stupid is as stupid does!!!!

i heard also that on the application form, it asks why you wanted to join, and socom was one of the choices

Anyways no this game does not make me want to be a seal,(retarded) but as far as your buddy goes (whoever started this thread) it isn't a joke. My cousin is a seal. Since he has been in we don't see him much at all, and when we do he always has to have all his stuff packed and ready to go. I remember he was staying with his grandmother when 9-11 happened. That night he woke her up and said "I have to go, I'll call you soon". and was gone that fast. Don't really know where he went. She got a letter about a week later saying he was still in the states etc...then didn't hear from him for awhile. We hardly ever hear from him. Maybe he is just chasing alot of tail?!?! He isn't that big either. As someone else said strength is good, but that isn't all there is to.....takes alot of heart. The first time I did see him after 9-11 I asked him where all he had been. He told me that he was over in some crap country i've never heard of being a body guard for some jerk i've never heard of...Then after that he went to some 3rd world country and taught them how to fire weapons???? Good luck to your buddy, and anyone else that joins any part of the military....

Amen. Although since the United States Marine Corps. is a branch of the US Navy, it is not uncommon to find Marines in the SEALs.
