I don't know if this has been covered but have you guys ever notice the weird screaming that goes on in the background of Killing Fields? At first I used to think that it was all the other players just warring it out and they were battle cries in the form of External Whispers. But then it hit me the other day that these can't be heard when you're right next to a group of people duking it out. So what are these ghost whispers?
It sounds like a foreign language (Iraqi?) so my thoughts are maybe Zipper is doing somekind of spoof on the conspiracy with US armed forces torturing Iraqis and Afghans. It would just be kind of funny. Maybe the screaming is some poor Iraqi in an unenterable room (maybe the Lighthouse by the terr spawn?) who is getting a battery charger clamped to his unmentionables? What do you guys think?
idk, but i was wonderin about those sounds too, i think its suppose to make it more life like of some distant battle between two unknown sides, at frist i thought is was other players too, but one time when i was the only one left alive i still heard them.
Not only is it funny but it adds to the feel of the game as well. Kinda like if you play a Demo, your surround system's on full blast, you grab the bomb right away and hide in the corner. You wait for the fragging and shooting to stop then right when you're about to to run out and make for their base you hear this screaming and you're just like "..uuhhh...couple more seconds, then I'll go"
Too bad the screaming isn't on all the maps.
BTW is there any way we can get someone on here to translate? There's gotta be someone on here that can understand the screaming...
Ive heard yelling, not screams of agony, in Crucible. It sounds like someone is trying to tell someone something over a small distance. But I only hear it on the main road between that facility where that anti arcraft cannon was(single player) by the SEAL base and the huge mountain people snipe from.
