Anyway, it didn't say that the patch is almost out, it said that the patch is in QA.

As for the ranks, stop worrying about something that doesn't matter. Your online rank is not part of your life. If you get mad and quit SOCOM because they reset ranks than you are a major douchebag and need to go play pong for the rest of your life.

I stopped caring about rank after I became an officer and my rank dropped because of the disconnects. But the patch better fix this so that I can get in the game for clan wars and so that I don't get kicked out while in a clan war, or games where my clan is in need of assistance.

they need to reset the rank so bad, but if they do every1 above an ensign should just get reset to an ensign so they dont hav to play 100 games again

Nah, it just doesn't matter about the rank (my opinion). I have to say though, that with all the speculation about what the patch will include in it, I am anxious to see what people are going to say when it does come out. What if it doesn't do anything to fix most of the problems at all? What if it fixes one thing but adversely affects another, which would create a whole new problem? Stay tuned, the fun keeps going.......

That is the usual trend with Microsoft products. Every online game I have ever played there has always been patch rumors some of which are true and others which aren't. No point in worrying over whether or not they are resetting the stats, if they do just start over and if not then move on. Either way I am sure that the majority of players will still be online playing. Let's just all kick back and see what happens.

Maybe they should include a patch so that you could clear your rank? But it would make everything go back to zero. So that the good players that had a rough start or had too many disconnects because of server issues could make them go back to absolute zero. What you would do is press 'Clear Rank' on your personal profile, then you would e-mail Sony/Zipper staff in-game. Then if you give them a legitimate reason to reset your ranks, they will do so. That would be fair to me. It would make your ranks set to as you never have played.

I don't see them doing a "Clear Rank" button simply because all the little children that will complain when they accidently wipe out there stats.

I'd love this capability. I'd want it to prompt me for my password though, just as a final confirmation. Skip the email to zipper, and it's doable. Ranks are calculated on the fly, with a very simple equation. Whiping out your own stats will not have an adverse effect on the game for others.
