The first person view gives me a headache as well. I bought the first Quake game when it came out for tht PC. I only played it a few times becouse of the headache and sick feeling that it gave me. I have never bought or played a first person shooter since.

The thing about First-Person is that is if someone is an inch off your screen, when he shoots you SHOULD hear him in front and to the left/right of you. However not everybody can afford surround sound. If you ask me, First-Person will dominate when surround sound and high definition is affordable by all. Right now, Third Person is your best bet.

I prefer 1st person. Only because it IS more realistic. And the major reason, You cant camp corners in first person.

I love my socom 3 though. I love everything in 3rd person as well. But I seriously cant stand everyone camping corners. Its the nubbiest way to win.

For games like socom, third person is the best thing, but for games like doom 3, quake, first person is a must. It all depends on the game

The one thing I've noticed about the difference of 1st Person and 3rd person is the sniping.

Try to prove me wrong. But on just about ALL 1st person shooting games when you zoom in on the scope the sniper rifle does NOT move around, it automatically assumes that your arms and shoulders can be perfectly still no matter what is going on around you. (All the Delta Force series, Counter-Strike : Source, 007 series, Unreal Tournament Series)

And all the 3rd person shooter games when you go in for the snipe, it goes more realistic and bounces up down left right(did i miss any?). Socom's the only 3rd person shooter I've played so (Socom, Socom 2, n Socom 3)

I am so pleased that I am not the only one!

I cannot play a FPS for more than a few minutes without feeling sick as a parrot
And the only one I was ever able to play was also 'Goldeneye' on the N64.

I cannot comment on PS3 games but as far as the XBOX 360 goes; 'Gears Of War' (TPS) is so playable unlike the DISMAL 'Halo 3' which had me falling off of cliffs I couldn't see, then I was sick! Or 'COD4' which I thought was better but still made me feel sick!!

I would have thought that following the *HUGE* success of 'GOW' that there would be more games based on this far superior system, but alas no!

Talking 3rd person
I would have to say that I like 3rd person a whole lot more. I like games like the conflict series:

Conflict: Desert Storm, Conflict: Desert Storm 2, Conflict: Vietnam, and Conflict: Global Terror

by Pivotal Games. I like them because of their strategy and also because they are in 3rd person. The peripheral vision of 3rd person is much better than 1st person.

However, I do like one series of 1st person games and that is the Halo series. I don't have 3 yet, but 1st person on those games seems to be different from 1st person on other games. Overall: 3rd person.
