People are funny.

Leave the country? Funny that you should say that... I thought the whole point of having freedom of speech was to be able to criticize the government enough for eventual change.

Of course, that only holds true if the opinion is the same as your's, eh?

We all have our right, to freedom of speech. At least in most of the countrys that Socom players are from. And if I don't like someone slamming our country, you can bet your boots, that I'll use my freedom of speech, to tell them that. Like I said before, people have served and died, to give us that freedom. And I'll stand up next to you, or whoever, and fight to keep our countrys that way.

My point was, he has the right to say what he wants. And it was because of people fighting and dying for this, and your country, that he, you and I, have that right/privilege to state what we think.

Politics
What really pisses me off is the extremeist democrats or republicans. They are always blaming each other for something else and taking credit for something that the other side really did. But if you try to go halfway and be independant, you will just be ignored. So, there are just 2 sets of ideals to run the U.S. government by. In my opinion, neither of the political parties do a very good job anyway.

I totally agree with this. Take for example this war in Iraq. IMO the war was a mistake and according the the Downing Street Memo he fixed facts, but can we go and reverse it? NO! Both sides need to STF^ and tackle this issue together. We fight other countries not as Democrats or Republicans but AMERICANS and I think many times out politicians forget that.

Voting
Voting is great. If we do get another Hitler in office, we can't blame him or anyone else. Then it would be our own fault. But in the presidential election, its a rip. The electoral college votes based on the state's popular vote. WTF is up with that? It should be set up so that the people actually vote for the president.

The electoral college was formed by the founding fathers because they thought that the people could not do things for themselves and that they were stupid to make good decisions. I dont think the electoral college is the problem in voting, its the fact that only 50% of the people of the country vote during a good election. Elections should be spread out over a week to avoid all those long lines (might be stupid, but just an idea)

The good ol' American justice system
America - The only civilized place where you can rape and murder a 17 year old girl and only get 15 years in prison. Come on. It should be like "an eye for an eye." Well, maybe in some cases. But, if you intentionally kill someone (when not defending yourself) you should be given the chair or life in prison. In America, you can get away with crimes just because the arresting officer did not read you your rights. And then there's politics in the justice system. Its all corrupt.

If you think the American justice system is corrupt compared to other countries, you have serious flaws in your facts. Sure there are things that could be bettered but every system has its flaws. I totally understand the rape thing and do support capital punishment but i think that the American Justice system is one of the best in the world.

But there is a reason that rapists only get 15 yrs, its called the economic principle ofoppurtunity cost[. If a rapist rapes a girl but knows that he is goint to get the chair, what stops him from killing her? Sure some people argue that after rape the girl might just as well be dead, but there are some girls who actually rehab and live normal lives afterwards

Political Correctness
"Freedom Fries" because France didn't help us in the war. "Hate Crimes" if a white kid hits a kid of another race. And much, much more. It is going out of control. And it is getting annoying. People need to face it. The world isn't perfect. All those over-protective soccer moms out there need to accept that there are more than white kids out there and that there is violence on TV. It is just how the world is.

I agree with this also, political correctness is stupid and could care less about it. Political correctness has totally owned our first amendment rights and people need to learn how to live with other peoples opinions without trying to get them fired.

Taxes
The government taxes the hell out of us. About 30% of people's paycheck is taken by the government. And our government is spending billions and billions on nukes and bombs. The government can take a ridiculous amount of money from you and can still be in a deficit. They need to figure out a way to use their money wisely.

Taxes are a necessary evil. Taxes is the only thing the government to the economy that makes sense. If you look at Keynesian Economics Government spending because of tax revenue is actually better for the economy that them just giving you a tax cut. I agree with the nuke statement because i think out country could do just fine with one less nuke and out money could better be spent on things like universal healthcare. I also think that rich people should be taxed more and poor people given tax breaks because poor people need all the money they can have.

If you think that taxes in this country are bad, well again your facts arent correct. Many European countries tax upto 90 percent of your earnings so now, how bad does 30% seem?

Now im just kind of ranting, but out country just has a ton of flaws. This country was supposed to be a great place, but it just seems to be slipping away. It is a lot better than poor countries and communist countries, but I still do not enjoy living in this place.
Im an immigrant who has lived in a so called "third world" country and am telling you that i would love to go back and live there. India is really great because of all the corruption because if you have money you can do so much illegal stuff and noone will care as long as you pay them under the table and theres also cricket. But does that mean that I don't love it here? No it doesnt. This is a great country and i am pround to be a part of it. I hope to one day get citizenship [i already have a green card] and vote because i have always been interested in politics.

All this ranting was very unorganized, sorry if you had a hard time reading it

I'll start off by saying, I love the IDEA of America, but not the execution. We wage billion dollar wars based upon "misled intelligence". But yet we don't have a federally funded medical insurance for citizens. That is an obvious lack of priorities.

The whole argument about the reasons for going into Iraq is obviously important. But the Republicans only defense is "Hey, the democrats believed it too". As if that solved the biggest intelligence failure in modern history. Recently the government voted to "take back" over 100 million in aid that was supposed to go to New York as a result of 9/11.

We will never forget? Seems we already have....
