Agreed... In Socom 2, I cared too much for my rank, but now in Socom 3 I don't really care as much, yeah its nice to have a good rank, but there are always people who cheat the system, like in Socom 2, and evitually won't even really matter...

i could care less about the rank. Im a big Halo fan and rank is so big in that game peopl go way too far in it. That is why I started playing this because it is more chill and people dont get as mad.

these ranks dont mean **** to me cause they mean nothing i have went into rooms on socom2 after i didnt play for months and was a ensign and had people go haha look at the butterstick and then i owned them and i got to say haha you got owned by a butterstick **** your captain wings ******** so ya if the ranks were legit they would be badass but they arent and in the end they dont prove your a good player because the higher your rank is the more you cheat i dont need some ****** symbol to prove im good i can do that in the game by kicking *** they need to either 1 get rid of the ranks or 2 get rid of the cheating bs because im sick of having to look at a top 10 cheaters list and i wouldn't give a **** if they removed ranks as long as they keep the stats because i like seeing my total games wins losses deaths kills etc

I take my rank seriously, but if i were to drop im not going to get pissed about it. Im a 4 star admiral right now and if i dropped to say a captain or lower i wouldnt care because i know i can still own just about everyone out there. It was like when i was a butterstick and playing against captains and admirals i owned them. And then u get the satisfaction of saying, haha, you suck. :)

People that can't get their game verified should be banned in the next few months. The game is for adults little kiddies out there. And rank does matter. Rank = Bragging rights. You have no rank, you suck. Simple as that *****.

I definately care about rank. But never to the extent of buying two PS2s so I can be the number 1 player!!!!! People who do that, have no lifes. If your number 1...do you feel superior because you beat some people in a video game by cheating?...do you think you will get $1 million? You actually lose a dollar and than gain it back in 10 days, thats it. The only way is if you join a tourney but you probably won't win anything because all you do is rank up and never you work on the actuall game.

In the long run it all comes down to ranks don't mean **** in this game. There are so many rank ups with no lives (they literally must have no lives to sit in a room and shoot people dumb enough to stand in one spot in the head for 8 hours straight, or hooking multiple ps2's up) to try to make themselves look like they actually have some sort of talent, lol it's laughable. Most rank ups, if you get into a real battle, will get owned. It's like a doctor trainee cheating on his final exam just to become a brain surgeon (rank up), but when the time comes for the real deal, he ends up labotamizing his patient because he has zero skill. I've pwned many so called awsome players in the past, high rank means squat in this game.

Also to Zipper who see these guys in the top 10 with like 8000 kills 10 deaths or whatever rediculous numbers there are, need to get off their lazy asses and start banning people. Sure you do not have 100% proof they are cheating, but comon now, anyone with half a brain and some common sense can see some of the numbers being put up are simply impossible without some sort of bs going on. Zipper needs to get off their collective asses and get their **** together to do something about this blatent nonsense. I mean what was the whole point of using CC's if not to weed out the losers that cheat to grab a little bit of fame on a video game.

The only real good purpose for stats are to keep track of your own personal bests, and see how you yourself are doing online. I mean alot of people play legit and like to see how they do, and by playing legit you will get personal gratification at having good stats, and satisfied in the knowledge that your stats have been earned through well fought game play and proper means and not some noobish nonsense. Kudos to those of you who keep it on the level, keep playing fair to get rank. Other then that, give me a print out of the rank list so I can wipe my *** with it, because that, to me, is about how important ranks are.
