This isn't rank up you moron. Everyone needs to stop calling this way of playing rank up, you aren't glitching the game, you are playing legit games. Personally, I like smaller games with smaller rounds because it makes the game more fun for me, and I don't have to wait minutes before people die off.

It def. isnt ranking up, because your rating or position dosent go up. You just get the goofy names with how ever many games you play because its going by experience. Kind of like the longer you serve the higher up you are. Your rating and position actually go by how many kills/deaths/and games you have won.

I love the 3 round ranked games, and I'll tell you why:
Socom 3 is one big wet dream for all the chicken sh.t snipers out there. This results in people pitching a tent, getting the smores out and camping their as.ses off to avoid getting sniped by some clown in a ghillie suit with a silenced sr25/sasr and a thermal scope who thinks he's so bada.ss for being able to hit glowing red globs on his screen.
It's not that I get "owned" or that I "need to work on my skill", but I'm not John J. Rambo, and I do get killed in the games. Sitting there watching people laying in bushes for anywhere from 1-3 minutes is not the most enjoyable way to spend my free time. This usually means an 11 round game lasts anywhere from 20 minutes to literally 2 hours (Water Works, one big snipe-fest resulting in tie after tie after tie.).
So I look for those games titled "R^ FaSt!!!" and "Quick Maps, Quick Action" because at least in those games, snipers don't even have that much time to setup camp.
Once I get out of the enlisted ranks, I'll get in the real games. Until then, suck it.

rank
I think people are upset about rank because they like havig some sort of status.A way to gauge themselves against other players and have a sense of accomplishment.I do agree that some people complain too much.I myself don't give a crap about rank at all.

Yeah, realistically you all are the fools who think rank means something. Wake up from your wet dream, it doesn't mean a thing...what do you do with yor rank...go around walmart and tell people your an ensign on socom?? Wow I'm sure the rest of the world is impressed...so until then $uck it and get a life.

I can't wait till all the people who populate the quick rank rooms get to the officers ranks and are stuck as Ensigns forever because they screwed their rating up playing games where they can't achieve as much per game.
"WTF?! why am I a butterstick?! I'm the 1337 dood!"
Suckers.

Yeah the 3 round games arent that great for your rank. I do them sometimes but Ide rather do a big game because there funner. If you every do want to do a rank up thing, make itthe regular amount of rounds or 5, it makes it better for you and your rank. Also the 3 round games can hurt you if you always lose.

To clear up all tha mess. The games that are made 3 rounds, 3 min, thos are not rank up room. Those are actually rank down room. If u look at a persons stats who has been playin in thos rooms, their rating is very low, & even n some cases, in the negatives. All thos rooms do is up your number of games played. When u do switch over 2 the officer ladder, u will be an ensign, & it will be very hard for you to up your rating, & you'll prolly be an ensign for about 3-4 months. All thos rooms do is help people like me who play tha full games. Right now I've only played 30 games, all full, & I'm ranked #193. If u doubt me, type in "Dorian" for the "search indivual ladder". When people play thos games, it makes there rank go down. All that advances is their medal in the enlisted ranks. Once they get switched over, they will be VERY low on the REAL ladder. Thos who don't believe, keep playing in thos rooms, & keep helping me out. Thanks.... *best game- 24-4*

I take mine from one of the truly great movies "Napolean Dynamite".
for fun
"Vote for Pedro"
for campers
"Tina, you fat lard, come get some. . ."
for dancing
"You think anybody wants a roundhouse kick to the face while I'm wearing these bad boys? Forget about it."
after a win
"This one gang kept wanting me to join 'cause I am pretty good with a bow-staff"
vehicles
"You ever take it off any sweet jumps?"

I think it boils down to this:
If you are aware of your rank and how you compare with the majority of other players, it can really motivate you to get out there and actually improve your game. It gives you a visual representation of how much your skills have evolved as it relates to the skills of your peers. If there were no ranking you would have no basis of comparison, no standard by which to base your progress. Its definetly not neccesary to have fun, but it IS fun to see straight up statistics on your level of gameplay.
