Stealth Tactics And Techniques
SoggyMilk's Training Guide For Alpha Squadron Stealth will be posted here for those who wish to learn a little bit...
Stealth. In this game, what stealth means is to be silent, invisible, and deadly......
In any map, Stealth can be achieved through forward thinking:
Picking the right suit
The right weapons and attachments for the job
Working together with teammates who understand the basics of stealth.
Simply picking a silent weapons doesn't mean that Stealth will be achieved...
You can also pick a loud weapon, and achieve the stealthy approach.
Example:
In the Harvester Map, with a ghillie suit you are NOT invisible. However, with a ghillie suit, and also with the tactic of advancing slowly whilst crouching, you will achieve invisibility to anyone passing through the area.
In open areas, run to the nearest cover. Don't walk, don't saunter, don't whistle the reville while doing it. Be silent, and fast.
Stealth is basic reconnaisance. When you learn to RECON effectively, then you will definately become stealthy....
I'll start off with the Basic Reconnaisance skills.
RECON:
(In my clan, we train for reconnaisance, if you'd like to follow these guidelings, you're welcomed to try it out.)
Reconnaisance Training starts off as follows.... Get into a game that's full of 32 people, and get out your pistol...Your job is not to engage ANY enemy you see.
You will simply move around the map, calling out all enemies that you've spotted, and you will follow said enemy around the map, without attacking with anything but a pistol....
This might seem rediculous, but think of this.... When you've got a pistol in your hand and you're restricted to just that one weapon (in the game), you'll think twice before you attack someone. You'll start to think in the terms of OSOK. Or, One Shot, One Kill. Meaning that you won't attack untill you've been discovered, or untill you can achieve the OSOK standard.
(This training guide might be different for other people, so it's all up to you on how you do this, this is just the Alpha Squadron way that we train....)
And when you're forced to stay hidden, and your not attacking out-right, you'll transfer the same skills and fears over to when you're using an assault rifle, so you'll start to move slowly, casing all possible angles of attack, just as you would when you have a pistol.
The basic aspect of stealth is what's posted above, moving slowly, advancing with cover, and most importantly, concealment. The fastest way to cover and concealment is the best way to move towards an objective.
Another major aspect of stealth is knowing when and where to shoot.
Accuracy plays a major part in this, as you'll have to attack swiftly and quickly whenever you're trying to remain stealthy...
You can achieve this by:
Making sure the target is alone...
By making sure that they dont' know where you're attacking from...
By making sure that you're in a position of advantage...
Making sure that you're able to shoot accurately...
Another portion of stealth is to destroy the concentration of the enemy...
Example:
When you're alone, and you're moving through the area, follow this tactic to gain some targets to kill.....
Stay in an area where you're very much safe from enemy fire.
Be on guard for any enemies that might be near.
When it's safe, pop a smoke grenade about fifty meters away from you're position.
Passing enemies will stop, and take a look around, seeing nothing, they'll search for the source of the smoke....
When they're in plain view, which they most definately will be, give them a ticket to hell.
That's all from my Clan's Stealth/RECON post...
Acept it if you will, I just hope it helps.
