Did you notice that in SOCOM 2 until they fixed it people could hold the mic for as long as they wanted pretty much? Well same here in SOCOM 3.
It's only been a week guys, you better start working on a patch. This is just one of the probably 100's of problems you guys have with the game.

The mic only allows you 10 seconds of time at a pop. If it occurs any longer than that, it's most likely the server thinks that the person is still talking when they're not.

To you it'll appear that they still have the mic, but they're not saying anything.

That's not the problem though Mike (that I've seen). It's the fact that the same person can hold the mic, then let go of L2 and then quickly press it again, giving the same person the mic back. It is extremely difficult to get the mic from them, as you only have that few tenths of a second window while they're letting go then repressing L2.

Oh yeah, no doubt about it. What's worse is when those same people are on your team, and the hog the mic all during the game too.

I had to put up with two guys last night talking back and forth like a couple of girls. They were finally voted out after repeatidly being asked to stop, and told to pick up the d*mn phone if you want to talk to someone.

Yeah people BSing on the mic is annoying, especially when your trying to tell someone there about to get shot in the back. My clan will sometimes go to the other channel if people aren't willing to be considerate and leave the mic open for strategy, instead of talking about what homework they got in school.

Yeah, I'm trying to get my clan in this habit too.

I just say "Sevens (our clan name, [777]), channel 1"

If a douche comes on there just to annoy us, that's grounds for a legal team kill in my book.
