i think it would be cool if there was a non online multiplyer mode in s3 so that you could play with your friends, since it is only single player online.

No, he also means split sceen deathmatch mode, not just co-op.
its called lan. split screen doesnt work on tactical shooters, they can se your posistion way too easy...thats why halo snipers dont play splitscreen....

They almost did. They wanted to include online and off line co-op in socom 3. It was cut becasue, adding veichals was more important due to map size. And upping the limit to 32 and everything there doing. So it looks like Socom 4's main feature will be co-op.
I really hope they do include multiplayer in S4. I would have loved it in S3 but whatever. If you have ever played gamed like Medal Of Honor you know that looking at your friends' screens isn't that big of a deal and if anything it adds to the challenge and excitement of the game.
