Excluding the Melee Attacks
Without melee attacks in multiplayer, you're still going to have the ridiculous strafing from left to right while going on full auto hoping to land a shot on the guy 5 feet away from you. It's so dumb. Encumbrance or the new movement physics arn't going to do **** against this. It's going to be the same strafe battle, and the winner will be awarded completly by accident... and you'll still have your, "OMG WTF LIT HIM UP LAGGER!!!1"

Ok then... two guys run round a corner, at 2 feet away both press X... one bats the other, the other is dead... What skill is involved in that??? I am sorry to user the same system as the gun banners, but there is no skill to that, and there is a miniscule amount to actualy landoing a shot on target, so no melee...

And anyway... just think of what the dead guy will say "OMFG!!! How did he press X faster than ME!!! Thats impossible!!!" there would be continual arguements, and it would suck... think about the counter arguement next time... or read the other half a dozen topics in the same vein...

With lag and differentiation in connection speeds melee attacks are seemingly impossible. On your screen the guy might not be moving and you smack him in the face with the butt of your gun, but on his screen he moved a half a second before you smacked him. So...when he's like 4 ft away he died from your melee attack. Lag. Will. Happen. Melee attacks are impossible with lag.

Also, with the maps twice as large as last bastion, there will be a lot more long range stuff and less little firefights side-by-side strafing action.

that would be pretty cool though u see a guy with a IW and u have a 552SD u know that he could kill u faster so u run up behind the guy and give him a gash in his skull (even though this sounds like a Terrorist doin this 2 a SEAL i ment it to be the other way around)

I wouldn't like this feature if it were included into multiplayer. You know you'd have people that would just run around the map tapping X till they land the blow of someone. I find it annoying in single player mode already, I don't want it to ruin multiplayer.

The way I see it is it would be a cool little addition, but is really totally unnecessary. If you have the opportunity to get that close to someone, you already have the free kill by shooting them, it just seems redundant to me.

so if u do this in real life how would it be any different? huh thats what i thought u would probably die if u get hit one time. its the most realistic game ever made. even though i havent played Socom 3 im sure it will be better than Socom 2. because the part where u said, "What skill is involved in that" that is the most dumbest thing i have heard i guess u have never fired a real gun so u wouldnt know. if this happens to me in Socom 2 then i just let the other person kill me because its stupid just running bak and forth. as some1 else said the levels are going to be way bigger and its going to require more skill to actually kill some1. and u will have to work as a team why do u think its called Socom 3 US Navy Seals because they work as a unit they become one with another.
